Jasná Chopok sever - Biela púť

Jasná Chopok sever - Biela púť

Demänovská Dolina

Are you used to arriving at a ski resort only to see a single lift, a slope, a snack bar, and a wooden ticket booth? Upon arriving in Jasná, you will feel as if you are in Disneyland. A multitude of slopes that seem to tower above you rather than lie in front of you. Restaurants, hotels, snack bars, numerous cable cars, and thousands of skiers everywhere. You will not experience such an atmosphere anywhere else but on the northern side of Chopok.

Grandeur. That is exactly what will come to mind at the first sight of this massive ski resort, which boasts 45 km of ski slopes. You will park your car in one of the many high-capacity parking lots and head for your tickets. The ticket offices are the first thing you will come into contact with, and they are located precisely at Biela púť.

In addition to them, you will find a disco, bars, restaurants, and many accommodation facilities here. A variety of hotels and guesthouses are located directly on the Biela púť slope. You can look forward to typical mountain architecture and a pleasant environment. Outside your windows, you will see the cable car moving and crowds of satisfied skiers.

At Biela púť, you will find a chairlift and a blue slope suitable even for complete beginners. If you are standing on skis for the first time, your steps will lead you here first. The slope is regularly maintained, and artificial snowmaking is a matter of course. It is equipped with artificial lighting, so you can start looking forward to night skiing. You walk out of the hotel, put on your skis, and you are already skiing.

At the end of Biela púť, there is an interesting attraction, Twinliner. It is a kind of train that functions just like an elevator. Its carriage can hold up to 50 skiers and will transport you directly to the funitel, the cable car leading to the peak of Chopok. From Biela púť, you can also get to Luková, at an altitude of 1,670 meters above sea level. You will be transported there by a classic 4-seater chairlift, one of many in the entire resort.

Biela púť is the starting point for the entire ski resort, and every skier heading to the slopes of Chopok will pass through it. The slope itself is ideal for beginners; just choose a ski or snowboard school, and professionals will teach you all the secrets of every good skier in a few days.

There is probably no better location to stay for skiing in Jasná. There are many hotels for the demanding directly at Biela púť. If you want to save money and prefer to ski more, choose from the range of tourist hostels. Despite the fact that you will be at an altitude of over 1,100 meters above sea level in the middle of the mountains, you will not be bored. It is only a short walk from the hotels to the bars or to one of the most famous discos. Entertainment in Jasná at Biela púť does not end on the slope.

Winter Park Martinky

Winter Park Martinky

Martin

Do you love skiing on slopes from which you can see tens of kilometers into the distance? Do you dislike narrow trails nearly inside a forest and want to feel truly comfortable while skiing? Winter Park Martinky brings all this and more, a ski resort with a long tradition.

Martinské hole tower directly above the city of Martin, which offers the most ideal access to them. They are located in the central part of the Lúčanská Malá Fatra mountains, one of the most famous mountain ranges in Slovakia. They are famous far and wide for their excellent snow conditions. While other resorts pray for enough snow, at Martinské hole they could give it away. No wonder, as their lower boundary is at an altitude of up to 1,150 meters above sea level and the upper one is about 300 meters higher. You will certainly experience an incredible natural spectacle called an inversion at the top of Martinské hole.

This once-overlooked ski resort is experiencing its second rebirth. The rising interest in freeriding—skiing in open, natural terrain—has played a part in this. Due to the abundance of snow and open spaces, Martinské hole is one of the most sought-after resorts of all.

For other skiers, a relatively large ski resort awaits; by our standards, 8 km of slopes is a respectable figure. You will find a modern chairlift here, along with 5 other ski lifts. The difficulty of the slopes is designed very reasonably, with the easiest blue and moderately difficult red trails in approximate balance. On the longest slope, you will enjoy a descent approximately 2 kilometers long, which will delight even more demanding skiers. Artificial snowmaking is a matter of course, even though just a few years ago, "Martinky" had to make do with only natural snow.

A snowboard park, buffets, and bars are also available to you here, where you can warm up with a good grog. We repeatedly draw your attention to the beautiful nature. You will see two-meter-high snowdrifts and trees laden with heaps of snow—just like in old films—only in a few places these days. At Martinské hole, it is a common phenomenon.

Transport accessibility, beautiful nature, and excellent skiing conditions are the main advantages of the resort. You will certainly want to spend more days here and discover not only the official slopes but also the beautifully hidden terrain. Therefore, set aside several days that you can spend in one of the many cottages directly by the slopes. Mountain hotel, guest house, tourist hostel, or private lodging—it does not matter what you choose; as long as you have good company, you are guaranteed not to be bored. Martinské hole simply will not allow it.

Jasná Chopok juh - Srdiečko

Jasná Chopok juh - Srdiečko

Demänovská Dolina

Are you a skier? And you haven't been to Jasná yet? You simply must change that this winter. The most modern ski resort in Slovakia offers everything. Modern and wide ski slopes, super-fast cable cars, but also mysterious nooks of the resort that remind one of the good old days of the skiing era. One such nook is the Srdiečko area on the southern slopes of Chopok.

You won't find many resorts that resemble the ski courses of your youth with their atmosphere. You might be surprised, but you will find exactly such places in Jasná. If you get tired of tens of kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes on the northern side, where unfortunately there is almost always a large number of people, head to the south. You will be taken to the top of Chopok by a modern funitel. Steep black slopes await you here. Once you manage this section, you will reach Srdiečko.

There is a well-known mountain hotel here, where you will certainly make many new friends. A friendly atmosphere and a wonderful panorama of the mountains are the best things you could wish for during a ski stay. You will have majestic Chopok right in the palm of your hand and a chairlift right under your windows. You can get to Kosodrevina by this lift, from where a modern high-capacity cable car leads all the way to the top of Chopok.

The slopes at Srdiečko are also inclined towards less experienced skiers, although absolute beginners should look somewhere else. The slope leading along the chairlift also has challenging sections. The part west of Srdiečko is somewhat gentler. You will find classic ski lifts here, where there is almost always a minimum of people. This red-marked slope belongs to the longest descents in Slovakia. You should definitely try it; it is an unmistakable experience directly from the top of Chopok.

One of the less known nooks of the southern side of Chopok close to Srdiečko is Dereše. An older ski lift leads to a height of approximately 2000 meters above sea level. Dereše are interesting not only for their natural beauty but also for a beautiful slope with open terrain where you don't have to worry about queues of people. You will feel like in a movie with professional skiers. If you visit Jasná, don't just ski on the northern side. The southern side has a completely different atmosphere, and many will like it more than the more commercial northern side.

Srdiečko is very easily accessible; a classic road even leads here. You can get here from the direction of Tále. In addition to traffic accessibility, one unique attraction is located nearby, the Jaskyňa Mŕtvych netopierov (Cave of Dead Bats). You won't find groomed trails or artificial lighting here. As an adventurer, a caver, you will set off into the dark depths and discover all the underground beauties by the light of a carbide lamp.

You can stay directly at the Horský hotel Srdiečko (Srdiečko Mountain Hotel), from which a chairlift leads and several slopes end here. Alternatively, there are several villages with private accommodation and guest houses available to you. Tále, Bystrá, or Mýto pod Ďumbierom are popular destinations among tourists offering affordable accommodation.

Jasná Chopok sever - Otupné

Jasná Chopok sever - Otupné

Demänovská Dolina

Jasná is the largest ski resort for miles around. But if you think a beginner skier won't find a place to ski here, you are mistaken. It offers something for everyone. For professionals, freeriders, ski mountaineers, intermediate skiers, but also for beginner skiers and families with small children. If you belong to the last category, pay attention.

A short distance from the ticket office where you buy your passes, there is a modern and beautiful hotel. In front of it stands the valley station of the cable car. It will certainly catch your eye immediately upon arrival; its black and orange design is simply unmistakable. And it is thanks to it that you will discover the high-quality slopes of Otupné.

The cable car will comfortably take you from an altitude of 1,141 meters above sea level to nearly 300 meters higher, where an approximately 2 km long slope begins. The cable car, named after the adjacent hotel, Grandjet, is fast, comfortable, and thanks to the orange glass, you will feel like it is beautifully sunny outside. Even when it is cloudy.

The slope from Brhliská to Otupné is marked in blue, so it is suitable for beginners or children. It is sufficiently wide, and you do not have to worry about the safety of your little one. A few meters of the slope are red, of intermediate difficulty, but this section can be bypassed by a gentler slope. Moreover, you will find ski schools in the resort, and if you do not dare to go alone, you can head to Otupné with an experienced instructor.

In addition to the modern cable car, you will also find short lifts here. They come in handy when you don't want to return all the way down to the parking lots. At Otupné, there is a unique view of the massive rocky ridge of the Nízke Tatry mountains, the Chopok peak itself, and, of course, the Derešský kotol basin.

Until now, it may have seemed that if you are a more experienced skier, you have no reason to go to Otupné. Wrong. The first reason is the breathtaking natural scenery all around, and the second is the local Snowpark. It is the real deal for adrenaline seekers. You will find high snow ramps, jumps, rails, and various obstacles here. From small jumps for beginners to several-meter-long jumps for the best. If "freeride" is your middle name, you will let loose like a small child at Otupné.

Jasná offers slopes for every group of skiers, and Otupné is an example of this. It is focused mainly on beginners and absolute extremists who love adrenaline. Are you in one of these groups? Ski Centrum Demänová

Liptovský Mikuláš

If you are planning to spend your winter holiday in Liptov, the newly opened Ski Centrum Demänová is a guarantee of a great family skiing trip. It is located directly at the gateway to the Demänovská dolina valley, and its difficulty level makes it ideal for families with children, beginners, and intermediate skiers. Prepare yourself for high-quality services, always groomed slopes, and plenty of great experiences. Other benefits of this modern resort include free parking and charging stations for electric vehicles.

The ski resort has three lifts, two of which are intended for more experienced skiers and one is reserved for children and skiers who are just starting with this winter sport. For greater safety, a separate ski zone has been created for children, where you can also use the services of the Ski School Smile. Experienced instructors cater to all categories of skiers, whether they are absolute beginners or those who wish to fine-tune or improve their technique. Find time for fun and try snowtubing. This involves riding on special inflatable tubes similar to tires. You will enjoy your grand ride in a groomed 50 m long snow trough.

You will enjoy adrenaline skiing or snowboarding in the snowpark, which features man-made obstacles. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts will surely be pleased by the 550 m long, artificially snowed track. The circuit is permanently illuminated and regularly groomed by a special snow groomer. Before skiing, entrust your ski and snowboard equipment to the hands of professionals. The most modern ski service in Slovakia, which boasts top-notch equipment and a testing center, will take care of perfectly waxed and sharp edges. If you do not have your own equipment, do not despair. The resort area also includes a rental shop for skis and ski equipment of world-class brands. After a demanding day spent on skis, treat yourself to refreshments right on the slope. Three gastronomic establishments will take care of your hungry tummies. The ski resort is open every day from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. On Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, you can enjoy a romantic atmosphere for two during evening skiing.

So that you do not have to travel too far for accommodation, you can easily find pleasant lodging near Ski Centrum Demänová on our website under accommodation in Demänová. You can combine skiing with trips to the surrounding area in the following days. Let yourself be lured into the fascinating world of optical illusions in the unusual Galéria ILUSIA gallery. You will experience another unconventional experience in the form of a friendly shootout in the Liptov Lasers arena. Be sure to visit our largest water park, Tatralandia, and treat yourself to water fun in thermal pools. We also recommend an excursion to the Liptov caves.
