Perfect skiing, long kilometers of slopes, and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. You will find all this and much more at the Malinô Brdo ski resort near Ružomberok.

Ružomberok, a town in a beautiful mountain setting nestled between the Chočské vrchy mountains and the Veľká Fatra mountains. It is precisely on the slopes of the Veľká Fatra that Ski Park Ružomberok Malinô Brdo is located, which is among the most popular resorts in Slovakia.

This suburban ski resort, located near the main transport artery connecting the east of Slovakia with the west, spreads out at an altitude of 567 to 1,209 meters above sea level. A relatively large vertical drop promises many slopes aimed at all performance categories.

What awaits you? Kilometers of slopes of all difficulty levels, modern transport facilities, and always perfect services. You will find a nearly 2 km long cable car here that will take you to the main part of the resort.

Ski Park Ružomberok offers up to 12 km of slopes for everyone. Children and beginner skiers will appreciate the lifts on the gentle slope, where they will learn the basics of skiing. There are 4 such lifts in the resort, so you do not have to worry about crowds in lines.

For others, a whole spectrum of intermediate slopes and several black, most demanding sections are intended. This part is served by two ski lifts and a chairlift. A comprehensive artificial snowmaking system is a matter of course in the resort. Thanks to this, you never have to worry about a lack of snow.

Let's get to the most interesting part. The resort can boast one of the longest slopes in Slovakia, a nearly 4 km long slope leading all the way from the peak of Malinô Brdo. It will challenge even more experienced skiers, and riding down it is a real experience. Below the slopes, you will find buffets, a ski rental, a service center, ski schools—in short, everything you will need for a great skiing trip.

The Liptov region is, besides great conditions for skiing, also rich in other cultural beauties. From the slope, it is only a short distance to the village of Vlkolínec, which, thanks to its still-living traditions, is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Malinô Brdo offers plenty of options for perfect accommodation. Right by the cable car, you will find a cottage settlement with stylish cabins, a mountain hotel, or affordable apartments. If that is still not enough for you, there are plenty of private lodgings in nearby Ružomberok that will surely be happy to welcome you. So pack your ski gear and head out to the white slopes.

Ski Park Kubínska hoľa

Ski Park Kubínska hoľa

Dolný Kubín

Would you like to experience a unique and high-quality skiing trip? Do you not know where to go because you already know almost all the well-known resorts? Perhaps you have missed one. It is slightly off the main routes in Slovakia, but it is well worth a visit. If you are traveling near Dolný Kubín in winter, make a stop here.

You will be welcomed by Ski Park Kubínska hoľa, a ski resort in Oravská Magura with a stunning view. You can see the long slopes from the town of Dolný Kubín itself, and skiing on them is truly worth it. Orava is famous for its piles of snow, and you will enjoy plenty of it at Kubínska hoľa. Add to that the magnificent views of the Chočské vrchy mountains, as well as the Západné Tatry and Nízke Tatry mountains, and you would be hard-pressed to find better skiing.

The highest point of the ski resort is at an altitude of 1400 meters. The southern orientation of the slopes is a surprise, because despite the constant sunshine, the snow lasts surprisingly long. The modern artificial snowmaking system also helps, and the ski season is guaranteed to extend into the spring.

The Kubínska hoľa ski resort is among the larger ones in Slovakia. You will find 14 km of slopes of all difficulty levels here. You can ski with small children, complete beginners, intermediate skiers, sports skiers, as well as freeride enthusiasts looking for pristine powder. It is an incredibly complex resort where you can truly find everything. And as if that were not enough, add another 10 km of groomed tracks for cross-country skiing, and you have the resort of your dreams.

The resort's greatest pride is its second-longest slope, where you can try out all possible inclines. It leads through blue, red, and black sections. Its length is an impressive almost 3 km, and riding it in one go requires a dose of strength and skill. Yes, that was only the second-longest slope. The absolute longest one is also suitable for beginners; it has a gentler incline and is up to 4 km long. Some ski resorts do not even reach that length, and here we are still talking about just one slope. Your comfort will be taken care of by 8 lifts and 2 chairlifts.

Artificial snowmaking, night skiing with a view of the illuminated Dolný Kubín at night, snack bars, ski schools, restaurants, various obstacles in the children's area, or a snowboard school are a matter of course. Kubínska hoľa is prepared for a large influx of skiers, and its capacity of up to 9000 visitors per hour is sufficient. Thanks to the long kilometers of slopes, you do not have to worry about any congestion.

Given that Kubínska hoľa towers over one of the most important towns in all of Orava, you will have absolutely no problem finding accommodation. From cheap tourist hostels and typical mountain wooden cottages to more luxurious guesthouses, you will find everything here. Prepare your skis and head out. Ski Park Kubínska hoľa offers world-class skiing at affordable prices.

Winter Park Martinky

Winter Park Martinky

Martin

Do you love skiing on slopes from which you can see tens of kilometers into the distance? Do you dislike narrow trails nearly inside a forest and want to feel truly comfortable while skiing? Winter Park Martinky brings all this and more, a ski resort with a long tradition.

Martinské hole tower directly above the city of Martin, which offers the most ideal access to them. They are located in the central part of the Lúčanská Malá Fatra mountains, one of the most famous mountain ranges in Slovakia. They are famous far and wide for their excellent snow conditions. While other resorts pray for enough snow, at Martinské hole they could give it away. No wonder, as their lower boundary is at an altitude of up to 1,150 meters above sea level and the upper one is about 300 meters higher. You will certainly experience an incredible natural spectacle called an inversion at the top of Martinské hole.

This once-overlooked ski resort is experiencing its second rebirth. The rising interest in freeriding—skiing in open, natural terrain—has played a part in this. Due to the abundance of snow and open spaces, Martinské hole is one of the most sought-after resorts of all.

For other skiers, a relatively large ski resort awaits; by our standards, 8 km of slopes is a respectable figure. You will find a modern chairlift here, along with 5 other ski lifts. The difficulty of the slopes is designed very reasonably, with the easiest blue and moderately difficult red trails in approximate balance. On the longest slope, you will enjoy a descent approximately 2 kilometers long, which will delight even more demanding skiers. Artificial snowmaking is a matter of course, even though just a few years ago, "Martinky" had to make do with only natural snow.

A snowboard park, buffets, and bars are also available to you here, where you can warm up with a good grog. We repeatedly draw your attention to the beautiful nature. You will see two-meter-high snowdrifts and trees laden with heaps of snow—just like in old films—only in a few places these days. At Martinské hole, it is a common phenomenon.

Transport accessibility, beautiful nature, and excellent skiing conditions are the main advantages of the resort. You will certainly want to spend more days here and discover not only the official slopes but also the beautifully hidden terrain. Therefore, set aside several days that you can spend in one of the many cottages directly by the slopes. Mountain hotel, guest house, tourist hostel, or private lodging—it does not matter what you choose; as long as you have good company, you are guaranteed not to be bored. Martinské hole simply will not allow it.
