It began writing its history on the day of its opening, namely May 2008. Its opening hours are listed directly on the website. The museum itself will catch your attention mainly because of 21 exclusive exhibits in their original, but above all, renovated state. When we look into history, we find that the first transport wagons already appeared in Ancient Egypt or perhaps also in Asia. In the collection, you can also find urban Coupés, carriages for hunters, or winter sleighs.

Your fantasy and imagination will be working at full blast. Every single detail on the "bodywork", beautiful upholstery, or other gadgets of that era will thrill you. Not only carriages whose bodywork is separated from the chassis, but also wagons with a connection directly to the chassis. You will learn about all the possibilities of the present day as well as interesting information through information boards.

The overall experience of this museum below Oravský hrad is complemented by figures in period costumes. The cherry on top of the entire exhibition is the exclusive funeral carriage for nobles with dimensions of 5 meters in length and 3 in width. It is worth seeing with your own eyes.

Should you come as a group with more than 20 people, you can arrange an individual tour of the museum. Afterward, you can head directly to the village together, where you can see Stredoveká dedina sokoliarov or the popular Oravský hrad. After such a demanding day, book accommodation near the Múzeum šľachtických kočiarov a saní. Your choice can be rooms in Oravský Podzámok guest houses as well as cottages. Ranks of local volunteers who value the heritage of their ancestors participated in its reconstruction.

The exhibition itself consists of 230 historical artifacts donated or loaned to the museum by citizens and natives of the village of Párnica. Here, you can visit a countryside room, a barn, and a separate room with period documents, including photographs illustrating life in the village throughout past years. A true gem of the building is a hand-painted chest from 1908. Come and admire paintings by famous artists from the collections of private collectors. If you like a painting and would like to have it at home, you can purchase it directly in the gallery.

This private gallery was founded in 1990 by Juraj Schrüger. The core of the gallery was formed by his own collection. He gradually enriched it with works that he bought from artists. Other works entered the gallery thanks to consignment sales. The first vernissage took place in December 1990 in the house of the Schrüger family. The converted attic rooms featured paintings by leading Slovak artists V. Hložník, J. Alexy, J. Kollár, J. Šturdík, M. Medvecká and others. Following reconstruction in 1998, new, more dignified premises with a total area of 150 m² were opened to the public. The gallery has hosted 17 exhibitions of Slovak artists.

Come and take part in one of the vernisages, which change in theme at regular intervals. In addition to exhibition activities, the gallery also focuses on the artistic framing of paintings. The owner Juraj Schrüger himself began focusing on the creation of frames, traveling to Prague where he honed his skills under the master Viktor Brůžka. At the initiative of Dezider Milly, he later learned how to prime painting canvases. Gesso is a smooth binding layer between the base and the paint and has a decisive influence on the hardness and quality of the colors. The result of studies and numerous tests was a gesso tested by the laboratories of the National Gallery in Prague, and this unique gesso was rated as permanently colorfast. As part of a family manufacture, the gallery still produces primed canvases today, which are purchased by both domestic and foreign artists.

After this cultural experience, treat yourself to some relaxation and book your accommodation near ART Galéria Schrüger today. Also visit Meander Park Oravice and enjoy relaxation and fun in this modern Orava water park.
