The Donovaly region lies between the Low Tatras and the Veľká Fatra mountains, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers, hiking enthusiasts, and winter sports. We recommend visiting the historic town of Banská Bystrica, known for its charming square, restaurants, and cultural landmarks. A trip to the picturesque village of Špania Dolina is also worth it, famous for its mining history and unique architecture. Nature lovers can explore Harmanec Cave or enjoy hiking to nearby peaks such as Veľká Chochuľa or Kozí chrbát. The region also offers great opportunities for cycling, wellness, and relaxation in nature. Donovaly and its surroundings are a perfect choice for both active holidays and peaceful mountain getaways all year round.

Our guests like the peaceful atmosphere and excellent, strategic location near the most sought-after attractions of Liptovská Ondrašová the most. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant, ideal for relaxation, but at the same time offers quick access to a variety of trips and experiences. In the vicinity there is the Tatralandia Aquapark (approx. 2 km), Liptovská Mara (approx. 5 km) or Demänovská Cave of Freedom (approx. 13 km). Lovers of winter sports and mountain hiking will appreciate the easy access to the largest ski resort in Slovakia, Jasná – Chopok (approx. 15 km). Families with children will enjoy attractions such as ZOO Kontakt near Tatralandia or Mini Slovakia in Liptovský Ján with models of famous Slovak monuments. The surroundings are also ideal for hiking, cycling and walks in nature. It is the combination of peace, nature and proximity to the main attractions that makes Liptovská Ondrašová a place where guests can enjoy an active program and a well-deserved rest.

The location of our accommodation has excellent access to tourist destinations and attractions in the Liptov, Tatras, Spiš, Slovak Paradise, Pieniny regions. Our guests travel to these areas for natural beauties or cultural and historical monuments. All age categories will find in our surroundings what will please them, interest them, and from which they will take away beautiful memories. There are several search engines that will help you with the selection of well-known and even lesser-known attractions within easy reach by car from Važec. Whether the sun is shining, it is raining or it is snowing. You can visit the Museum of Folk Traditions and the Važec Cave directly in Važec. There is a restaurant in the village that also offers a daily menu during the working week (also with delivery), a pharmacy, and about 5 smaller grocery stores with various goods. There is a bicycle and e-bike rental nearby (Štrbské Pleso, Podbanské, Kráľova Lehota). You can go hiking in the Low and High Tatras in the area. You can walk through the Hybice Gorge, the Furkot Valley, go up to Predné Solisko, to the Skok Waterfall or to Popradské Pleso. You can take a pleasant walk around Štrbské Pleso. In winter, you can enjoy great skiing in the Štrbské Pleso ski resort, Ski Podbanské, Snowpark Lučivná and many other resorts. If you want to spend your free time in the garden, you can choose from three places to sit in the garden - a garden sofa under a shelter, a wooden table with benches on the terrace, chairs with a table in the garden gazebo. We also offer you a charcoal grill and a 20 l kettle with a basin. Smaller children will enjoy the playground with a slide, swings and if you want to play sports, we have a football goal and badminton rackets for you. An ideal place for both the eastern and western sides of the mountains. At the cottage you will find books and brochures with walks in the near and further surroundings. Accessibility Važec is by train, bus, car direct access from the highway, 2nd class road. Cosy atmosphere, traditional wooden design and peaceful surroundings. Comfortable and well equipped, It has a lovely homely feel while still offering all the modern conveniences you would expect. Wonderful Hosts - One of the highlights of our stay was the hosts themselves. They were genuinely lovely people: warm, friendly, welcoming and incredibly helpful throughout our visit. The location is exactly as it is advertised, or even better if I can say, place was neat, with all listed adjustments and equipment. It is a perfect place to visit as a group of people to have private space to spend time together - it is quiet, spacious, and sauna, jacuzzi and playing room are just perfect complementations! Worth noticing that the communication in general and ease of contact with owner are great, always responding fast clarifying or answering the questions!

Toto bol náš druhý pobyt a drevenica je úžasná, aj keď ste s 3 rôznymi rodinami. Je veľmi čistá a má všetko, čo potrebujete. Osobne vás privíta Tatiana, ktorá vám ukáže, kde čo je. Kuchyňa je plne vybavená pre 10 osôb a pre deti je k dispozícii množstvo hier + futbalové ihrisko, skákací hrad, trampolína na ihrisku priamo za chatou v spoločnej časti, ktorú si naše deti obľúbili a skamarátili sa s ostatnými deťmi. Bola to skvelá dovolenka a my sa vrátime!
