Lyžiarske stredisko Látky - Prašivá
You don't have to be a professional skier right away to come and move your body on skis in the beautiful environment of the Slovenské rudohorie mountains, where the Látky – Prašivá ski resort is located. It is a family-type resort in the Veporské vrchy mountains, suitable for beginner skiers, families with children, or those who enjoy peaceful and safe skiing.
The slope of this ski resort is located on the premises of a nearby hotel in the unique natural setting of the village of Látky. Its difficulty is classified as easy and is therefore marked in blue. The resort is situated at an altitude of 900 to 1,100 m a.s.l. You can visit during the winter months and enjoy perfect skiing moves or participate in other winter sports activities. In case of less favorable weather, the slope is covered with artificial snow. There are 2 ski lifts available for you here. The longest is the Trampota H lift, with a length of 680 m. The shorter Trampota P lift, 280 m long, is mainly used for speed runs by adults. The longest skiable terrain is 1,200 m long with a total elevation gain of 98 m.
In the resort area, a dedicated space on the slope is also reserved for sledding. Children can gain their first experience on a children's slope with a 70m-long rope tow. During the winter season, you can look forward to an accompanying entertainment program or a folk party that will make your skiing even more enjoyable. An interesting feature of this resort is the possibility of evening skiing, made possible thanks to slope lighting. A cross-country skiing trail also runs through the resort. If you prefer keeping an eye on your children off the slope, but start playing with the idea of learning to ski yourself, you can easily make use of the local ski and snowboard rental shop. Afterwards, simply sign up for a ski course at the ski school and, under the supervision of professional instructors, indulge in these snowy delights. If skiing catches your fancy so much that you want to do it for the rest of your stay, you can head over to the sports equipment shop.
Did hunger strike you and you didn't pack anything good in your backpack? You can enjoy quick refreshments at the snack bar directly on the slope, where entry is permitted even in ski boots. You can count your steps in a mobile app by taking a long walk to the Rozhľadňa na Jasenine lookout tower. From its platform, you can see the beauty of the Juhoslovenská kotlina basin and the nearby Hungarian mountains. Even in winter, Vodopády Bystré waterfall does not freeze, allowing you to take beautiful photos. You can round off your stay with a tour of Dom umenia Arteska.
