Slnečné jazerá Senec

Slnečné jazerá Senec

Senec

Slnečné jazerá (Sun Lakes) or Senecké jazerá are among the most visited recreation centers in Slovakia. We can find them in the town of Senec. Every year, this location is visited by many families with children, young active holidaymakers, and seniors. The advantage is the low entrance fee, the option to purchase a seasonal pass, and a number of attractions in the area. Slnečné jazerá in Senec are also popular among fishermen, who can pursue their hobby here without any worries.

The lakes were artificially created in 1845, when five separate lakes were formed after gravel dredging. These later merged into one water area with an area of 120 hectares and a depth of up to 12 meters. Since 1919, the place began to be used as a natural swimming area. At that time, it was also known by the name Slovenské Tahiti (Slovak Tahiti).

Today, the resort is divided into three zones - northern, southern, and eastern. The northern side is especially suitable for families with children, as there is an Aquathermal Senec water park with water attractions and a playground for children. However, you will find various attractions for active holidaymakers in every part. You will appreciate the beach volleyball courts, football fields, and tennis courts.

Water sports are a matter of course here. You can practice Zumba and yoga, or explore the surroundings faster on scooters, which you can rent. During the summer, various musical events held directly on the premises are also very popular.

You don't have to go far for other points of interest. Visit Včelársky skanzen (Beekeeping Open-air Museum), Oáza sibírskeho tigra (Siberian Tiger Oasis) in Kostolná pri Dunaji, enjoy adventure flights from Kráľová pri Senci, or an adrenaline rafting trip on the Malý Dunaj river. Book your accommodation at Slnečné jazerá Senec and plan a holiday packed with experiences!

Trnavské rybníky

Trnavské rybníky

Trnava

In the Malé Karpaty mountains, set in the picturesque nature of the Trnava Region, you will find the protected area Trnavské rybníky in the district of Trnava. Its area spans more than 38 hectares and extends into the cadastral territories of the village of Hrnčiarovce nad Parnou as well as the city of Trnava. Since 1974, when the area was declared protected, the 3rd and 4th levels of nature protection have applied here. The subject of protection is waterfowl and aquatic biocenoses.

Around Trnavské rybníky, you can spot approximately 200 species of birds, as many as 150 of which are protected species. Some of them are truly very rare, and it is difficult to see them anywhere else. Likewise, there is an interesting composition of flora here, which, together with the environment and climate, creates perfect conditions of symbiosis for nesting birds. Listening to the rustling of the surrounding remnants of the floodplain forest, the sounds of birdlife, and watching the calm water surface at the same time is truly very soothing. That is likely one of the reasons why the place is a frequent destination for walks.

You can take these walks along a network of surrounding dirt paths and trails. When the ground is warm, bring a blanket with you and spread it out on the grassy banks. Whether you have a picnic directly or just relax while reading a book is up to you. Especially in autumn, it is fascinating to watch the beautifully colored trees stretching along the banks and casting fabulous colorful reflections on the water surface. Nature is the best painter, and its paintings are different every day, never the same, and always breathtaking.

Your steps can lead you to the nearby local park. There, it is not unusual to meet active individuals on roller skates or bicycles. Locals often come here for a run as well, saying it clears their heads wonderfully. However, Trnavské rybníky is not the only place you can visit during your stay in Trnava. Dóm sv. Mikuláša or Katedrála sv. Jána Krstiteľa also have their charm. The building of Galéria Jána Koniarka – Kopplova vila is also architecturally beautifully designed.

Of course, there are also many options for entertainment and leisure, whether within wellness services, summer swimming, or evening entertainment. You need to experience Trnava, ideally by securing lodging for several days on the page accommodation in Trnava. That way, you will have your accommodation close to Trnavské rybníky and all other attractions. Do not forget to bring friends or family with you. After all, experiences are best collected together with someone else.

Miloslavka

Miloslavka

Miloslavov

Miloslavka is a freshwater lake with an area of 7 ha, located in the cadastral area of the village of Miloslavov, in the Senec district. The location is situated only 5 km from Bratislava. The lake was formed around 1970 when Danube gravel deposits were dredged. A new biotope began to develop in the lake after cleanup works between 1995 and 2000. Since 2002, this water body has been used for fishing purposes. The lake received the name Miloslavka only in 2005.

Fishing at Miloslavka is possible from April to October, always only with the manager's knowledge; a telephone booking and reservation of a specific spot according to the lake's fishing plan are recommended. Swimming is not permitted here. We can recommend visiting this location even to groups where not all members are focused on fishing. While the fishermen are pursuing their hobby, others can go swimming to their heart's content at Nové Košariská, which are located less than 5 km away. You can also drop by for a rafting trip on the Malý Dunaj or explore Bratislava, where you will truly find a bit of everything, starting with Bratislavský hrad, through the zoologická záhrada to hrad Devín.

When looking for accommodation near Miloslavka lake, you can start in Rovinka, where you will find private accommodation options. Another option is, for example, the Bratislava city boroughs of Podunajské Biskupice, Vrakuňa, and Ružinov. Bratislava also offers cheap hostels suitable for short stays, for example, even for a single night.

Zlaté piesky

Zlaté piesky

Bratislava

The Zlaté piesky lake is a very popular natural swimming area in the Ružinov borough of Bratislava. It is a pleasant, peaceful, and quiet location that is becoming increasingly sought-after, precisely because of this natural swimming site. In the middle of the lake, a wooded islet attracts people's attention.

The water surface is suitable for swimming for both adults and children. The width of the lake is approximately 400 m, with a maximum depth of 30 m. The water is exceptionally clean, with no aquatic plants. Vacationers will appreciate the sandy beach on the shore, where it is possible to rent sun loungers, parasols, or equipment for various sports activities on the shore and in the water. Dining options are a matter of course.

Active holidaymakers can play tennis, volleyball, minigolf, or streetball. There are courts for all these sports. Have you tried wakeboarding yet? It will get some adrenaline pumping in your blood, and it is really great fun. Zlaté piesky offers this attraction as well. Of course, the little ones have not been forgotten either. Children are well taken care of at the lake thanks to various programs and attractions. The water slide, beach playground with a sunshade, and the climbing wall are great.

Did you know that on July 28, 1976, an airplane crashed at Zlaté piesky? It was a flight between Prague and Bratislava, and this huge tragedy claimed 76 lives. The regime of the time tried to cover up the accident. Very little visual material was preserved, as members of the Verejná bezpečnosť (Public Security) confiscated camera films from the vacationers who were at the lake at that time. This exceptionally tragic event is described very realistically in the book "Katastrofa letu 001 na Zlatých pieskoch" (The Disaster of Flight 001 at Zlaté piesky).

Summer at Zlaté piesky is carried on waves of fun and vibrant energy. This is thanks to various events, whether cultural or musical. Uprising Reggae Festival and MTV Disco TV are certainly among the most popular.

Experience the unique atmosphere of Zlaté piesky for yourself. To visit all the interesting attractions of the city of Bratislava, we recommend that you book accommodation near Zlaté piesky for a few days. Jazero Nové Košariská

Jazero Nové Košariská

Rovinka

The Nové Košariská I. lake, also called Veľké Košariská or Veľké jazero Rovinka, is located near the villages of Rovinka and Dunajská Lužná, just 3 km from the Podunajské Biskupice district of Bratislava. Other lakes are also located in this area: Malé Košariská (Nové Košariská II.) and Nové Košariská (gravel pit lake). All three were formed as a result of gravel mining.

Veľké Košariská is 870 metres long and 500 metres wide, consisting of two parts separated by a small peninsula. One of the parts is shallower and surrounded by trees. The second part is deep, separated from the shallow area by a gravel drop-off, and is popular with scuba divers, as it reaches a depth of up to 40 metres very close to the shore. Several species of fish live in the lake; common ones include carp and pike, while catfish, zander, and eels are frequently observed, and freshwater jellyfish occur exceptionally in autumn.

Summer attracts vacationers to Košariská who like to refresh themselves in the crystal-clear water, which is nearly drinkable in quality, as proven by repeated official tests. Not all shores of the lake offer equally good access to the water; the best is from the gravel beach located in the eastern part. The more daring and free-spirited can visit the nudist beach. The remaining shores are steep, built up with holiday cottages in some places, and therefore often inaccessible. At the lake, food stands, toilets, and water sports equipment rentals, including pedal boats, are available for visitors. Sun loungers with umbrellas can also be rented here. The most common way to get to the lake is by car; riding a bicycle is not recommended, as there is no cycle path.

If you visit this area, make sure not to limit yourself to swimming and sunbathing by the water. Take a look at Bratislava as well, and discover the history and culture of the capital city. Art lovers are recommended to visit the Danubiana art museum at the Vodné dielo Gabčíkovo dam project. Adrenaline enthusiasts should head to the Areál Divoká voda complex in Čunovo.

Finding accommodation near Nové Košariská will certainly be easy, as it is just a stone's throw from Bratislava, which offers truly all types of accommodation. It depends on whether you prefer peace and quiet, choosing private accommodation on the outskirts of the city, or need all services close by, opting for an apartment in the centre. You can also choose based on your budget; hotels, guesthouses, and low-cost hostels are available.
