Senec –
Slnečné jazerá (Sun Lakes) or Senecké jazerá are among the most visited recreation centers in Slovakia. We can find them in the town of Senec. Every year, this location is visited by many families with children, young active holidaymakers, and seniors. The advantage is the low entrance fee, the option to purchase a seasonal pass, and a number of attractions in the area. Slnečné jazerá in Senec are also popular among fishermen, who can pursue their hobby here without any worries.
The lakes were artificially created in 1845, when five separate lakes were formed after gravel dredging. These later merged into one water area with an area of 120 hectares and a depth of up to 12 meters. Since 1919, the place began to be used as a natural swimming area. At that time, it was also known by the name Slovenské Tahiti (Slovak Tahiti).
Today, the resort is divided into three zones - northern, southern, and eastern. The northern side is especially suitable for families with children, as there is an Aquathermal Senec water park with water attractions and a playground for children. However, you will find various attractions for active holidaymakers in every part. You will appreciate the beach volleyball courts, football fields, and tennis courts.
Water sports are a matter of course here. You can practice Zumba and yoga, or explore the surroundings faster on scooters, which you can rent. During the summer, various musical events held directly on the premises are also very popular.
You don't have to go far for other points of interest. Visit Včelársky skanzen (Beekeeping Open-air Museum), Oáza sibírskeho tigra (Siberian Tiger Oasis) in Kostolná pri Dunaji, enjoy adventure flights from Kráľová pri Senci, or an adrenaline rafting trip on the Malý Dunaj river.
