His residence was Kaštieľ Svätý Anton (Antolský kaštieľ), which in even earlier times served as a hunting castle for the Coburg family. Tsar Ferdinand also began building his winter residence, a manor house, but unfortunately, he did not manage to complete its construction. It eventually became a treatment institution.
Today, it is utilized as Odborný liečebný ústav psychiatrický, n.o. Predná Hora. Originally, it served as a tuberculosis sanatorium.
