Although Aqua City is inherently associated with spending time in the water, many "land-based" activities are also prepared. In the fitness and cardio center, you have the opportunity to work on your physical fitness with the help of top-notch equipment. With friends, you will certainly love the beach soccer and volleyball courts and a number of other activities that are suitable for families, groups of friends, and corporate events.

After a "challenging" day in the pools and on the sports grounds, visitors like to treat themselves to a pleasant massage or a stay in the increasingly popular cryo-chamber. A steam sauna and an attractive option to visit the vital world are also available.

At Aqua City Poprad, families with children will also enjoy great fun. Especially for your little ones, there are children's pools, slides, water slides, a climbing castle, painting corners, and various other attractions. There is also a classic playground full of jungle gyms, trampolines, swings, and kind entertainers, with whom your children will have a lot of fun in the summer.

If you want to spend more days at the resort, you do not have to worry about accommodation. Several guesthouses and hotels are located in the immediate vicinity of the complex. During your stay, you can also set off to the tourist-attractive district of Spišská Sobota. You will find several pleasant guesthouses there, but you can also rent a cottage or find a nice spot in private accommodation.

Aqua City Poprad is a true oasis of fun and peace. Come with the whole family! Your children will surely have their fill of fun, and you will rest like never before.

A cable car runs from Tatranská Lomnica up to an altitude of 2,632 meters above sea level.

The ski resort in Tatranská Lomnica is our highest-altitude resort, and you will find one of the steepest slopes in Slovakia here. The slopes are spread out at altitudes ranging from 888 to 2,196 meters above sea level. This represents a vertical drop of approximately 1,300 meters, which is more than enough. The upper part is dedicated to the best and most experienced skiers; you will find the steepest slope of the resort here in Lomnické sedlo pass. This slope is constantly groomed, but if you prefer and want to enjoy free terrain, the part of the resort called Francúzska mulda is intended for you.

The resort has been significantly renovated; new slopes as well as cable cars have been added. Its pride is the new 15-seater cable car, the same as the one you will find in the Jasná ski resort. Národný park Slovenský raj

Národný park Slovenský raj

Dedinky

Národný park Slovenský raj is one of nine Slovak national parks and is considered one of the most beautiful. It stretches across the Banskobystrický kraj, Prešovský kraj, and Košický kraj regions, where it extends into the Spiš region. It is located within the territories of the Brezno, Poprad, Spišská Nová Ves, and Rožňava districts. The territory of Slovenský raj is a true paradise for hikers. Waterfalls, canyons, rocks, and breathtaking views—this is how our most visited national park could also be characterized.

NP Slovenský raj is a paradise for both animals and tourists

Slovenský raj was declared a national park in 1988. There are 11 national nature reserves and 8 nature reserves here. The park's territory lies in the north of the Slovenský Rudohorie mountains. Due to its fauna and flora, it has been included in the highest level of protection. Bears, wolves, foxes, and lynx live here, and even the Tatra chamois was artificially released here in 1963. Trout swim in the streams, and we can find various species of falcons as well as the golden eagle here.

The area of Národný park Slovenský raj is 19,414 hectares. Two rivers, the Hnilec and the Hornád, flow through the park, creating unique water phenomena—canyons, gorges, ravines, and waterfalls. The longest gorge is Prielom Hornádu, which was declared a national nature reserve as early as 1964. The section is 16 km long and belongs to the cadastre of the village of Letanovce. The trail is full of bridges, ladders, footbridges, and chains. Tourists from far and wide come to admire the wonderful scenery here.

The most visited gorge in Slovenský raj is Suchá Belá, through which a stream of the same name flows. You can reach it from the tourist center of Podlesok near the village of Hrabušice. The valley is interspersed with several waterfalls such as Misové vodopády, Korytový, or the beautiful Okienkový vodopád. With good hiking boots, even children can manage this undemanding and interesting hike.

Explore gorges, waterfalls, and the adrenaline-filled via ferrata

Národný park Slovenský raj also offers other gorges to explore. Klaštorská dolina is relatively short but popular with families with children. On the 1.5-kilometer route, you can admire Vodopád objaviteľov, Strakov vodopád, or Dúhový vodopád. Your starting point will be Kláštorisko, which is a ruin of a 13th-century Carthusian monastery. You will find a tourist center and a restaurant here. The entrance to this part of Slovenský raj is a rope bridge—a footbridge that was the first to be built when the gorge was opened to the public.

We also recommend visiting other nature reserves of Slovenský raj. In the Sokolia dolina gorge, which is the steepest valley in the park, you will find Závojový vodopád. With its height of 75 meters, it is the highest waterfall in Slovenský raj, and you can visit it from Tomášovská Belá. A no less famous gorge is Kyseľ, where the second largest waterfall in this park, Obrovský vodopád, is located. Adrenaline enthusiasts in the gorge will certainly be pleased by the Kyseľ Ferrata—a place where you can try rock climbing.

Other popular gorges include Piecky, Veľký Sokol, and Tiesňavy. The gorges in NP Slovenský raj require an entry fee but are open year-round. The weather, just like in the mountains, can be changeable here. Before your visit, always check the forecast and check the status of the hiking trails on the national park's website. Do not forget good, waterproof clothing or a raincoat. Due to its humidity, Slovenský raj resembles a primeval forest.

The most beautiful view and a magical ice cave await you

The most beautiful view in Slovenský raj will undoubtedly open up to you at Tomášovský výhľad. You can reach this rocky outcrop from the tourist center of Čingov or from the village of Smižany. Even seniors or families with children can handle the ascent to it. Of course, caution is advised. From an altitude of 667 m a.s.l., you will be able to see as far as the Vysoké Tatry mountains.

There is a large number of caves in Národný park Slovenský raj, most of which remain unexplored. Dobšinská ľadová jaskyňa, accessible from the village of Dobšiná, is open to the public. And as the name suggests, the cave is a magical realm of ice. So, if your children love Frozen, Elsa, Anna, or the snowman named Olaf, a visit to the cave will be an unforgettable experience for them.

If you are looking for a place in Slovenský raj to swim or laze about so that you can rest after a demanding hike, try the Klauzy water reservoir. The shores of the Palcmanská Maša water reservoir in the village of Dedinky also offer perfect relaxation. This largest water reservoir in Slovenský raj will also be an ideal starting point for your further wanderings through the national park.

Thanks to its countless natural beauties, Slovenský raj is the right place for an active holiday. Go on hikes here and admire what nature has created. We have prepared tips for trips in Slovenský raj for you. Plan your holiday now. We offer you quality accommodation near Národný park Slovenský raj. Book it on the page for accommodation in Slovenský raj or accommodation in Dedinky on our portal. You will surely choose from the wide offer. Tatras Tower

Tatras Tower

Vysoké Tatry mesto

The Tatras Tower observation tower at Štrbské Pleso represents one of the most modern and highest structures of its kind in Central Europe, offering visitors unique contact with the high-mountain environment.

The attraction is located in the Štrbské Pleso area, in the village of Štrba, in the Poprad district, at an altitude of approximately 1,350 meters. The tower reaches a height of 53 meters, and its spiral path with a gentle incline ensures comfortable and barrier-free access all the way to the very top. During the ascent, visitors pass by educational boards that introduce the fauna, flora, and history of the Tatry mountains, thus the tower also fulfills an educational function. The main attraction is an adrenaline-inducing walking net at a height of almost 50 meters above the ground and a glass floor that offers a view directly beneath the visitors' feet. For thrill-seekers, the longest and highest-situated dry slide in Slovakia is available, which can be used to shorten the way down. The tower's structure is designed to withstand demanding high-mountain conditions while sensitively complementing the surrounding sports infrastructure near the ski jumps. A visit to the tower is possible all year round, while every sunset or temperature inversion in the valleys gives the view an unmistakable atmosphere.

What can you find here?

In the tower complex, you will find a spiral observation path, an adrenaline net, a glass observation platform, and a sixty-one-meter-long dry slide. Interactive educational stations, a souvenir shop, and modern technical facilities, including restrooms, are available. In the immediate vicinity, there are parking lots and starting points for hiking trails around the Areál snov area.

Who is this place suitable for?

The location is ideal for families with children who will appreciate the fun elements and a safe route to the top, as well as for seniors and persons with limited mobility due to the barrier-free access. It is also sought after by landscape photographers and adrenaline lovers who want to try walking on a net above the abyss. Due to the open character of the structure, warmer clothing is recommended even during the summer months, as it can be windy at the top.

What can you visit in the surrounding area?

Just a few minutes of walking separate the tower from the iconic Štrbské pleso lake, which is ideal for walks or boating. You can also visit the Symbolický cintorín (Symbolic Cemetery) at Popradské pleso lake or set off on a hike to the Vodopád Skok (Skok Waterfall) in the Mlynická dolina valley. Indoor Fun Park Kamzíkovo

Indoor Fun Park Kamzíkovo

Vysoké Tatry mesto

In our largest high mountains, they also think of our little ones. They have created a unique indoor amusement playground here called Indoor Fun Park Kamzíkovo. It is situated in the premises of the original upper cable car station at Skalnaté pleso. You can reach it from Tatranská Lomnica along the green hiking trail. The ascent is more demanding and takes approximately 3 hours. Families with children and less experienced tourists therefore prefer to use the cable car from Tatranská Lomnica, which will take them up to Skalnaté pleso in just a few minutes.

The indoor playground offers an excellent space for the fun of children and the rest of parents. A maze, slides, and a popular ball pool are available for children here. Meanwhile, parents will certainly fully enjoy the local relaxation zone.

However, Kamzíkovo is not just an ordinary amusement park. This unique project is characteristic for its educational fun value. Before entering the amusement park, young enthusiasts of Tatra nature are greeted by a mini gallery of Tatra animals. They can view photo panels of Tatra animal inhabitants here. They will get to know the brown bear, the agile chamois, the crafty fox, but also the majestic eagle, the clever marmot, and the wise owl. A true gem of this amusement park is the real exhibit of the Tatra chamois.

Are you asking yourself why exactly Kamzíkovo? The Tatra chamois is an endemic subspecies of the chamois, which is rare precisely because it lives only in the territory of the Tatry and Nízke Tatry. For this reason, the chamois has become part of the logo of both national parks and, at the same time, the symbol of the children's park, Kamzíkovo.

A holiday in the Tatry mountains has long since ceased to be just about nature and hiking. Although the local natural wealth is still the biggest attraction for visitors to the Tatranský národný park, the people of the Tatras try to make trips to the mountains as pleasant as possible for us in every way. A trip to Skalnaté pleso will certainly be enriched by a visit to Indoor Fun Park Kamzíkovo. And when the sun shines outside again, you can return to the lake with your children or round off the playful fun in the beautiful Svištia krajinka (Marmot Land) full of climbing frames and carved Tatra animals. After you take the cable car back down to Tatranská Lomnica, you will certainly come across pleasant accommodation near Indoor Fun Park Kamzíkovo. Accommodation in Tatranská Lomnica will please you with a wide range of cottages, log cabins, pleasant villas, as well as guest houses and apartments. Zelené pleso

Zelené pleso

Vysoké Tatry mesto

Zelené pleso is one of the most romantic tarns in the Vysoké Tatry mountains. This glacial lake, lying at an altitude of 1551 m a.s.l., was named thanks to the springs that well up at its bottom and cause green spots. However, a more interesting variation is the ancient legend according to which a dazzling green gemstone fell into it from Jastrabej veže tower.

If you were looking on a map, point your finger to the eastern part of the Vysoké Tatry, to the Doliny Bielej vody kežmarskej valley, or the Doliny Zeleného plesa valley. Thanks to a maximum depth of 4.5 m, you can see all the way to the bottom of this moraine tarn from near the shore. With an area of 1.78 ha, it does not belong among the largest tarns, but it is definitely one of the most beautiful.

This turquoise-colored tarn is a popular destination not only for experienced hikers, skiers, and cyclists but also for families with older children or active seniors. Even so, good physical fitness is recommended, as the hike with an elevation gain of 855 meters along the yellow tourist trail is only moderately difficult, yet relatively lengthy. However, if that is not enough for you, the natural continuation of the route is the ascent to Jahňací štít peak or continuing to Skalnaté pleso.

The dominant feature of the view is the well-known "Brnčalka", as the Chata pri Zelenom plese mountain hut is called, which, thanks to its ochre facade, cannot be confused with any other. The history of the first shelter on the site of the current hut dates back to the end of the 1890s. It is open year-round, and if you are planning a challenging hike to the surrounding peaks, it is a suitable place for an overnight stay. Otherwise, do you know about its unusual phenomenon, which is more known from Nordic countries? In the period from October to March, not a single ray of sun touches it. Despite this, it is very popular even during this period.

The starting points for the hike to Zelenému plesu are Tatranské Matliare, the Biela Voda bus stop, or Tatranská Lomnica. For a perfect hiking experience, good planning is necessary, especially if you are traveling with children. So that you are not under time pressure to return home before dark, we recommend booking accommodation nearby in advance. You can find the best offers for accommodation near Zeleného plesa, as well as accommodation Tatranské Matliare or accommodation Tatranská Lomnica, directly on our website.
