Ski Blanc Ostrý Grúň
Allow us to introduce you to the Lyžiarske stredisko Ski Blanc Ostrý Grúň ski resort, located in the Vtáčnik mountain range in Central Slovakia. You will find it in the village of the same name, just 12 km from the town of Žarnovica. This smaller ski resort is ideal for families with children.
In the ski resort, you have 3 slopes at your disposal: two easy ones and one of medium difficulty. Their total length is 1.8 km. Smooth transport within the resort is provided by 3 ski lifts: Tatrapoma H60 with a length of 500 m, Tatrapoma S with a length of 200 m, and the 70 m long DLV lift. The transport capacity of the resort is 1,230 people per hour. During the season, skiing takes place on natural snow, and if necessary, the slopes are artificially snowed.
In addition to skiing, you can also enjoy winter fun on the sledding track. Hop on a sled or a snow tube and slide down the hill like in your younger days. And how about a snowball fight? Take a trip down memory lane with your little ones and build a snowman together. Or perhaps a snow fort? Whatever you manage to build out of snow, your children will certainly appreciate the time you spend with them.
If your little ones want to learn how to ski or snowboard, but you do not know how to teach them, enroll them in the ski school. A team of instructors will teach them the correct skiing and snowboarding techniques. Additional services at the resort include a ski service and a ski equipment rental.
The slopes are regularly groomed by a snowcat and illuminated with artificial lighting. This presents an opportunity for a date with your partner. Invite them to evening skiing and enjoy a romantic time for two. Refreshments are provided by the Ski Saloon snack bar. On the outdoor terrace, you can enjoy a cup of hot tea or delicious coffee.
An interesting feature of this resort is that they manufacture Canadian sleds here, which are also part of the equipment used by the Horská záchranná služba mountain rescue service. If you are not tired yet, you can take a small detour to the Ovčia farma Bzenica – Bukovina sheep farm and savor excellent sheep cheeses and delicious bryndza.
