History that touches even the present. This is how we could describe Bunker B-S 6, which belongs to one of the 15 bunkers of the border protection system of the Czechoslovak Republic. You can find the bunker in Bratislava – Petržalka. It is designated as "Vrba" and currently serves as a museum.

The bunker as such was built in 1935 by a local construction company. Its capacity was prepared for 10 soldiers who were to take care of guarding our borders. In 2011, it came under the hands of enthusiasts from a civic association. Their main goal is to restore the facility to its original state from that period and likewise bring military history closer to the public.

Currently, the bunker operates as a museum where you can look at not only its exterior, but also its interior spaces. Inside, there are various historical military weapons, objects, and other items connected with military history. An interesting feature of this bunker is that mass graves with the remains of approximately 300 people were found near it. A monument is built on the site of one of these graves.

This unique monument in Central Europe is visited by various groups. If you see a flag raised during their opening hours, the museum is open and do not hesitate to visit it. An expert commentary from history enthusiasts will surely captivate you. You will pay a symbolic entrance fee here. Families with children use the surroundings for easy walks. Visitors from outside Bratislava also keep in mind that it is necessary to book accommodation near Bunker B-S 6.

The route to the bunker is easy. If you arrive by car, you can comfortably park right in front of it. The bus stop is not far away either. Perhaps you will then take a tram and get to other attractions in Bratislava – Petržalka. On a summer day, you can also plan a swim at Kúpalisko Matador. In the evening, it is great to have fun at the local Petržalka Bowling Center. An unforgettable final touch will also be left by a sightseeing cruise on the Dunaj.
