What do Donovaly offer? Up to 11 km of slopes, 1 chairlift, 1 combined chairlift with several cabins, and up to 14 lifts. The fact that the resort is focused on less experienced skiers is evidenced by the fact that approximately three-quarters of the entire resort are marked in blue, i.e., the easiest slopes.

You will spend time with children on the side south of the road, where the least demanding tracks are located. When you crave something steeper, the slopes on the north side of the road leading from Nová hoľa are for the more demanding. They are marked in red, and you will even find a 100-meter-long black section here. The combined cable car, together with the lift at the summit, ensures short queues, and you will be able to enjoy a descent on the longest slope in the resort, measuring up to 2,200 meters.

Since Donovaly is focused on families with children and people who want to have fun, you will find a children's Fun Park here, which is the largest in Central Europe. It offers slalom courses, fairy-tale characters, various obstacles for the little ones, and up to 9 conveyor belts. All this under the supervision of experienced instructors. The Riders Park is also popular, where every freerider will enjoy themselves. Jumps, professional obstacles, easy jumps, and pleasant music from the speakers will get the blood flowing in the veins of every experienced skier. Šachtičky in the foothills of Nízke Tatry welcomes all skiers. Its main advantage is excellent snow conditions. Deep in the mountains, winter is always harsh, and there is usually more natural snow here than usual. Furthermore, the artificial snowmaking system significantly helps in the resort as well. Šachtičky is a relatively large and interesting ski complex. You will find slopes of all difficulty levels here: blue, red, and black. Approximately half of all trails are marked in red, indicating medium difficulty slopes.

Šachtičky is also great for beginner skiers. In other ski resorts, it is customary to set aside only a few short lifts and slopes at the bottom of the resort for beginners. Šachtičky is different and offers top-class slopes even to beginners. One of the blue slopes is almost 2 km long and is the longest in the resort. The second is over 1.5 km long, which is also a respectable length. Thus, you do not have to worry about skiing on a very short slope all day long.

Ski Šachtičky is situated at an altitude of 802 to 1,102 meters above sea level. So prepare for a harsh winter and, what is even better, a beautiful panoramic view. That will be the icing on the cake of your perfect skiing experience. A total of five ski lifts ensure that you ski more than you wait in line. The total capacity of the resort is almost 3,000 skiers per hour. Šachtičky is a suitable ski resort even for a multi-day winter vacation due to the total length of the slopes. It reaches more than 10 km, which ranks Šachtičky among the larger Slovak ski resorts.

Just as great as all 9 slopes in the resort are the additional services. You will find a children's area for the youngest skiers, a ski service shop, rental shop, a snack bar with a terrace, a restaurant, and accommodation facilities right next to the slope. Ružomberok, a town in a beautiful mountain setting nestled between the Chočské vrchy mountains and the Veľká Fatra mountains. It is precisely on the slopes of the Veľká Fatra that Ski Park Ružomberok Malinô Brdo is located, which is among the most popular resorts in Slovakia.

This suburban ski resort, located near the main transport artery connecting the east of Slovakia with the west, spreads out at an altitude of 567 to 1,209 meters above sea level. A relatively large vertical drop promises many slopes aimed at all performance categories.

Ski Park Ružomberok offers up to 12 km of slopes for everyone. Children and beginner skiers will appreciate the lifts on the gentle slope, where they will learn the basics of skiing. There are 4 such lifts in the resort, so you do not have to worry about crowds in lines.

For others, a whole spectrum of intermediate slopes and several black, most demanding sections are intended. This part is served by two ski lifts and a chairlift. A comprehensive artificial snowmaking system is a matter of course in the resort. Thanks to this, you never have to worry about a lack of snow.

Let's get to the most interesting part. The resort can boast one of the longest slopes in Slovakia, a nearly 4 km long slope leading all the way from the peak of Malinô Brdo. It will challenge even more experienced skiers, and riding down it is a real experience. It is Jasenská dolina. It lies at the foot of Veľká Fatra, just a few kilometers from Martin. Thanks to the nearby highway, transport is not a problem. All you need to do is head to the village of Belá – Dulice and you are there.

Jasenská dolina consists of two ski resorts. First, you will come across the Kašová resort, located right at the entrance of the valley. Here you will find a large-capacity parking lot where you can leave your car and head out for winter fun. The resort is located approximately 2.5 km from the village of Belá – Dulice, but a well-maintained road leads here.

What does Kašová offer? Snack bars, ski schools, rental shop, up to 7 km of cross-country skiing trails, and high-quality service. In short, everything you will need during your skiing trip. And now onto the main thing, the slopes. These are predominantly blue, which means the least demanding. There are only two sections where the slope is steeper. It is an ideal terrain for families with children and inexperienced skiers. Transport is handled by 6 ski lifts and 1 four-seater chairlift, so you can forget about long queues. The chairlift in particular has contributed to improving the skiing quality, and with a length of almost 650 meters, it is the resort's longest transport facility. The longest slope in this section is exactly 800 meters long. The entire resort is equipped with artificial snowmaking and is even fully illuminated. You will spend time on skis not only during the days, but during the evenings as well.

If you are a more demanding skier and the slopes of Kašová are not steep enough, continue along Jasenská dolina for about one more kilometer. This is where the Lehota resort is located. However, check in advance whether it is open, as there is only one 700-meter-long lift here and the resort does not have artificial snowmaking. You must therefore rely solely on natural snow. In favorable conditions, medium-difficulty slopes await you, the longest of which reaches up to 1,100 meters. This will be appreciated by more experienced skiers as well.

Between the two resorts, Lehota and Kašová, there are beautiful trails for cross-country skiers. Furthermore, the surrounding nature of Veľká Fatra directly invites you to explore it. Borišov and Ploská are popular tourist attractions throughout the year. In winter, you can try them with ski touring skis or snowshoes, for example. In Jasenská dolina, you will discover the magic of winter hiking.

Right in Jasenská dolina, there are simple cottages and guesthouses tailor-made for skiers. You will be close to the slope, enjoy a warm grog in the evening, and make many new friends. The popular Selce Čachovo ski resort is situated near the village of Selce, approximately 10 km northeast of Banská Bystrica. Skiing here takes place on the slopes of Starohorské vrchy in Nízke Tatry. At the Selce Čachovo ski resort, four groomed slopes with a total length of 2.38 km are prepared for skiers. The main family slope is a medium-difficulty ski trail with a length of 1,000 m. For the youngest visitors to the ski park, an easy children's slope measuring 180 m with an elevation gain of 25 m is prepared. Here, little skiers get acquainted with this popular winter sport and safely complete their first meters on skis. All slopes feature artificial snowmaking capabilities.

In the complex, four ski lifts with a total hourly transport capacity of 3,300 people take care of the comfortable transport of skiers. Naturally, a children's lift and a ski nursery are available for children. Parents can thus enjoy great skiing while their kids practice their skiing under the supervision of experienced instructors.

We recommend visiting the resort during the months of December – March, when this region can boast very good snow conditions. In peak season, an ice rink is also available to visitors. Night skiing will surely be a great experience for you. Selce Čachovo offers 400 m of illuminated trails. Cross-country skiers will find their share of enjoyment on cross-country trails with a total length of 30 km.
