Ľudovít Winter was only 20 years old when his father put him in charge of managing the spa. Young blood proved its worth. Together with his brother, they gradually built stylish hotels, invited talented doctors to Piešťany, and laid the foundation for the Balneologické múzeum. As a symbol of successful cures, they had a statue of a man breaking a crutch erected here, which stands in front of the entrance to the sanatorium.
The Piešťany spa has a 200-year tradition. Patients with rheumatism, musculoskeletal disorders, spine conditions, scoliosis, and post-injury or post-surgery conditions are treated here. Treatment for skin conditions and nervous system disorders is also successful.

It is used either as a bath, a mud pool (bahenisko) in which the patient sits, or through mud wraps applied at a temperature of around 45 degrees. Up to 60 kilograms of mud are used for a single wrap.

These include balneotherapy, pool baths, bubble baths, carbonated tub or dry carbonated gas baths, Scottish douches, electrotherapy, light therapy, laser therapy, and many others. Various types of massages and acupuncture are available. Outdoor and indoor pools, as well as a sauna world, are a matter of course.
Part of the treatment includes rehabilitation, yoga practice, individual physical exercise, a rehabilitation path, and even Nordic walking.
