Rozhľadňa na Marháte

Nitrianska Blatnica

From the tourist Rozhľadňa na Marháte observation tower, you will be treated to a magnificent panoramic view of three self-governing regions: Nitriansky, Trnavský, and Bratislavský. Your eyes will be drawn to Považský Inovec, Tríbeč, Vtáčnik, and Biele Karpaty, from Beckov to Hrad Devín castle. In favorable weather, you can see as far as Čachtický hrad and Topoľčiansky hrad castles. It is located north of the village of Nitrianska Blatnica, from where the easiest and shortest access leads to it. Do not hesitate, pack up the family, and off to adventure!

The wooden observation tower is 17 meters high, and the municipalities united in Mikroregión pod Marhátom contributed to its construction in 2008. The peak of Marhát is located approximately 5 km from the village of Nitrianska Blatnica. Your journey begins at the square, from where the green marker will lead you northwest. Along the way, you will come across an information panel about St. Hubert, the patron saint of hunters, which is placed by a hunting lodge. From this point, the asphalt road changes into a gravel path that passes through the forest.

At the next intersection, you will join the yellow marker, which leads to Rotunda sv. Juraja. This national cultural monument is located above a small grove called Háje. The cozy church with a steeple and a hermitage will surprise you with its well-preserved appearance. An info board is located here as well, introducing you to the history of its origin. Approximately 200 meters from the rotunda, you will find a drinking water spring where you can replenish your supplies. During the climb, the yellow marker is replaced by a red one, which will lead you all the way to the summit itself. After a few meters, rest areas and Kríž vďaky (Cross of Thanks) already welcome you, built here by the citizens of Nitrianska Blatnica in 1947 as a symbol of gratitude that the village was spared the material horrors of World War II. The idea for its construction was initiated by the priest Ján Laktiš, who was, among other things, an enthusiastic hiker and Slovakia's cross-country running champion.

You can wrap up your weekend hike in Považský Inovec with a tour of the manor house, Kaštieľ, located right in the village. After a great but demanding day, give your feet a rest and stay in a pleasant guesthouse. The entire range of accommodation near Rozhľadňa na Marháte will be displayed to you on the page accommodation in Nitrianska Blatnica. The following day, you can head to Ranč pod Babicou, where, in addition to horses, two ponds, a game enclosure, and a great restaurant await you. We wish you sunny weather and plenty of extraordinary experiences.
