Rozhľadňa Soblahov - Dúbravka

Soblahov

In a fairy-tale meadow behind the village of Soblahov, you will find the charming Rozhľadňa Dúbravka, which from a distance resembles a small church with a steeple. Take a trip with your family combined with a picnic and come enjoy the views of the wide surroundings. From the second floor of the observation tower, you can see all the way to the Biele Karpaty, Považský Inovec, and Strážovské vrchy mountain ranges.

The observation tower, captivating at first glance, was built in 2015 by the civic association OZ Spolok priateľov Soblahova. Its construction was financed exclusively from private sources. The charming tower is 9.5 meters high and is located above the municipal cemetery, in the Dúbravka – Jalovčina area. More than 100 years ago, the route of the Trenčín – Selec forest railway passed right through here.

The observation tower has two floors, and the lower part of the tower consists of a shelter with seating where you can refresh yourself and enjoy your tasty provisions. In addition to the mountains, you will be treated to unprecedented views of the surrounding towns and villages of Trenčianska Turná, Mníchova Lehota, Trenčín, and Nové Mesto nad Váhom. The impressive scenery is sure to leave a deep impression on you.

You can reach the observation tower directly from the village, and an easy stroll will take you approximately 10 minutes. If you are heading to the tower from Trenčín, prepare for a 2-hour walk. From there, a red-marked hiking trail passing through Lesopark Brezina will lead you to the observation tower.

If you prefer exploring the landscape from the saddle of a bicycle, a popular cycling route, Trenčín – Soblahov – Mníchova Lehota – Trenčianska Turná – Selec, runs near the tower. After a great trip, head to Trenčín, which is full of wonderful attractions. On your wanderings, be sure not to miss the pride of Trenčín, Trenčiansky hrad castle. Below the castle, you will also find a house of horrors, the so-called Katov dom (Executioner's House).

So that your stay is not just about hiking and sightseeing, treat yourself to some fun and visit the rope park Tarzania Trenčín. On hot summer days, a refreshing dip in the pools of Mestské kúpalisko (Municipal Lido) will surely hit the spot.

After a wonderful day filled with extraordinary experiences, stay in one of the cozy guesthouses or romantic cottages in the area. You can view the full range of accommodation near Rozhľadňa Dúbravka – Soblahov on our page accommodation Soblahov.

Vyhliadková veža Poľana

Brestovec (okres Myjava)

The observation tower built at the highest point in the surroundings of Myjava at an altitude of 530 m a. s. l., on the outskirts of the village of Brestovec, will offer you views of the surrounding beauties of this region. The wooden structure reaching a height of 20 m is easily accessible by an asphalt road from the town of Myjava. Whether you choose to go on foot or by bike, you can easily manage the gentle slope leading to the tower even with children or grandparents.

If you visit Záhorie, do not miss this observation tower. Come and enjoy the panorama from Poľana. The Biele Karpaty, the massif of Veľká Javorina, or the Myjavská pahorkatina will spread out before your eyes. The Malé Karpaty, Považský Inovec, Tribeč, Vtáčnik, or Strážovské vrchy will not escape your gaze either. Built in 2010, the tower is part of the project "Let's look across the borders from a height" ("Pozrime sa cez hranice z výšky"). An interesting feature is that under strong wind pressure or with a larger number of visitors, the tower may sway. However, you do not need to worry. Safety is ensured by solid foundations and 16 steel ropes. The tower, which is the dominant landmark of the surroundings, increases tourism attractiveness in the Czech-Slovak border region.

Nature lovers will gladly enjoy a walk in the surroundings. An ideal place in any season is the Vodná nádrž Brestovec. The locality is suitable for relaxation, fishing, and even ice skating in freezing winter. Winter and sports enthusiasts will find what they are looking for in the nearby ski resort Ski Land Stará Myjava.

In summer, you can refresh and cool down at the Kúpalisko Myjava. If the weather is unfavorable and you like history, visit Nárcie - the SNP memorial near the town of Stará Turá. Although this place is a memorial to sad events, it commemorates the determination and tenacity of the partisans who fought during the SNP. Whichever monument or attraction you decide to visit in Záhorie, we believe you will choose from our offer and book accommodation near the vyhliadkovej veže Poľana. A cottage in nature or a cozy guesthouse? We will leave the decision up to you. We believe you will spend a great time with friends or family in the surroundings of Myjava.
