Počúvadlianske jazero is located near the village of Počúvadlo, not far from Banská Štiavnica, and is one of the most beautiful and most visited tajchs. This artificially created lake is set in the beautiful nature of the protected area Štiavnické vrchy. Between the 16th and the middle of the 19th century, several water reservoirs were built in this region, which had economic importance, especially for mining operations. Today, it is among the popular summer and winter destinations.

As the only one of all the tajchs in Slovakia, it has five dams. It lies at an altitude of 550 m above sea level. It covers an area of 12 ha and reaches a maximum depth of almost 11 m. In addition to the title of "largest tajch", it also holds another one, namely "coldest tajch". However, even in summer, this does not discourage vacationers. Quite the contrary, they find pleasant refreshment in it during hot summer days. On its shores, they will also find various snack bars with excellent draft beer, restaurants, and sports activities.

Bakomiho jazero is also known for belonging to the group of Piargske vodné nádrže reservoirs, which were used in the past to obtain energy resources for mining and ore processing. This body of water was built between 1738 and 1740. Its builder was J. T. Brinn. For the system to function fully, Bakomiho jazero was connected to the Malá Richňavská water adit.

Currently, the lake is primarily used for recreational purposes. On hot summer days, its clean, cool water will pleasantly refresh you. You can also hide from the scorching sun in the shade of the trees. Although the lake is not among the most sought-after in the region and many tourists do not even know about it, this is one of the reasons why a peaceful atmosphere prevails here. Many couples in love also use this place for romantic walks, after which a rest on a wooden bench comes in handy.

Reaching this beautiful smaller tajch is relatively simple. Even though access is somewhat worse than to other surrounding lakes, you simply need to park your car in the village of Štiavnické Bane at the parking lot just above the lake coming from Richňava. From here, a connecting pedestrian path leads to Bakomiho jazero.

If you would like to make your time even more pleasant with other activities, you can easily include exploring the Banské múzeum v prírode - Banská Štiavnica in your plan.
