Kúpele Štós

Kúpele Štós

Štós

Kúpele Štós is a climatic spa located in the village of the same name. It lies at an altitude of 650 m above sea level in southeastern Slovakia, in the Košice Region. A high number of sunny days ensures intense solar infrared and ultraviolet radiation, which aids healing. The spa is situated in picturesque nature full of conifers that release their healing essential oils into the air. On the border of Slovenský kras and Volovské vrchy, which form part of Spišsko-gemerský kras / Spišské rudohorie, spruce and fir forests predominate. Thanks to a climate classification with a stimulation degree of 1 (Swiss classification), it is ideal for fulfilling its purpose, namely the treatment of respiratory diseases. In addition to this indication, metabolic and endocrine disorders, oncological diseases, mental disorders, and occupational diseases are treated here.

Historically, the origin of Kúpele Štós is linked to traditional mining, which flourished in this area from the 14th century. Mining also supported the establishment of new manufacturing factories and the influx of foreign workers. It was the master cutler Róbert Komporday, who worked for the SANDRIK company, who promoted the effects of hydrotherapy. Upon his initiative, the construction of the spa began in 1882. As early as 1883, the first spa season was launched.

The boom of Kúpele Štós occurred during the tenure of Dr. Dezider Czirfusz, after 1888. During the winter season, he served in San Remo as an Austro-Hungarian consul and attracted a large clientele to Štós. For this reason, additional facilities were gradually built: Vila Mária, Vila Hungaria, Vila dr. Czirfusza, and Vila Tatra, followed by a dance hall and other buildings. The year 1963 was also significant for Kúpele Štós. For therapeutic purposes, the first classic Finnish sauna in the entire territory of then-Czechoslovakia was put into operation here, and thanks to reconstruction, it continues to serve guests to this day.

Kúpele Štós has been visited by many prominent figures. Mention can be made of Eduard Beneš, Emo Bohúň, Ivan Olbracht, Karel Hašler, Vlado Clementis, Beata Poničanová, Mac Frič, and Karel Konrád. Laco Novomeský composed the poem "Pod jedľou" here, Jaroslav Ježek performed concerts here, and Vojtech Löffler sculpted his statues here.

The spa has a long-standing tradition in speleotherapy. This is a truly unique treatment with excellent results that takes place in the nearby Jasovská jaskyňa. This natural inhalatorium helps build up body resistance. The vital water world, which is part of a stay at the spa, is a popular form of relaxation. Visitors can enjoy a complete complex of water and steam baths. Staying in one of the saunas has a beneficial effect, with choices including Finnish, herbal, and eucalyptus saunas. Other indoor attractions include vital rain, a water path, a tepidarium, and a hydromassage pool. Guests can swim in a classic modern swimming pool as well as in a relaxation pool with a counter-current, water spout, and massage jets.

Other procedures that visitors and patients can undergo at the spa include massages. The offer includes classic, reflex, sports, aromatherapy, and lymphatic drainage massages. Water procedures include steam baths, classic bubble baths, additive bubble baths with a dry wrap, whirlpool baths with a dry wrap, Scottish douches, and a Finnish sauna. Peat wraps and paraffin applications are also popular treatments. Rehabilitation, fitness training, and spinal traction are part of the therapy as well. Electrotherapy, applied through various procedures at the spa, has proven excellent effects. These include Bioptron light therapy, diadynamic currents, interference currents, shortwave and ultrashortwave diathermy, magnetotherapy, ultrasound, and Solux lamp treatment. Gas injections and various medical and laboratory examinations, including ECG and spirometry, are a matter of course.

A stay in the local forest park, which covers an area of 4.5 ha, has a beneficial effect on the soul. It is designated as a national cultural monument. A small stream with several cascades and a fountain flows through it. There are more than 200 different plants and exotic trees, many of which are rare. Visitors can sit by a sequoia or a Canadian maple, or admire azaleas and rhododendrons. Children will not be bored either, as the Macík children's playroom is built here for them. While the children play, parents can sit in the common room. Visitors also often spend their leisure time at the spa in the café and fitness center.

The surroundings of Kúpele Štós are rich in historic and natural monuments, so you certainly will not be bored after completing your medical treatments. Hrad Krásna Hôrka castle and Kaštieľ Betliar manor house will enchant you with their atmosphere. Nature lovers will enjoy Zádielska tiesňava gorge, as well as visits to Krásnohorská jaskyňa cave and Ochtinská aragonitová jaskyňa cave. You will have the entire Národný park Slovenský kras right at your fingertips. Be sure to plan a trip to Hvezdáreň a planetárium Medzev, visit the technical monument Hámor v Medzeve along the way, and it is also worth visiting Vodný mlyn v Kováčovej and Hájske vodopády. There is no boredom in winter either, as the Štós – Šikmá stráň resort offers its slopes.

Kúpele Vyšné Ružbachy

Kúpele Vyšné Ružbachy

Vyšné Ružbachy

Kúpele Vyšné Ružbachy spa resort is located in the village of the same name, in the Stará Ľubovňa District. The climatic and mineral spa is situated at an altitude of 617 m above sea level on the southern foothills of the Spišská Magura mountains, in the region of the Tatra mountain ranges. People come here from various corners of Slovakia with indicated oncological diseases, circulatory system diseases, digestive system diseases, metabolic disorders, non-tuberculous respiratory diseases, musculoskeletal diseases, kidney and urinary tract diseases, mental disorders, gynecological conditions, and occupational diseases.

Construction of the spa began in 1595, when the main building, pool, kitchen, dining room, and common room were built. This was during the time of Mayor Sebastián Ľubomirský, appointed by Polish King Casimir. Stanislav Ľubomirský, son of Sebastián, expanded the spa and turned it into an important center for Polish and Hungarian nobility. After the Ľubomirský family line died out, the spa began to decline. This was caused by frequent changes in ownership until it came back under the administration of the Kingdom of Hungary.

It was not until 1825 that it underwent reconstruction thanks to the efforts of Baron von Jony. He had a manor house, a new spa house, and a mirror bath built, and the spa began to come alive again. Subsequently, his son Daniel took care of it, and in 1865 it became the property of the Kežmarok Lyceum until it was purchased in 1882 by Andrzej Zamoyski, a Polish count. In 1923, he had a natural thermal swimming pool built here, which was the largest in Slovakia at the time. From then on, the spa began transforming into one of the most modern in our territory. The Biely dom building was constructed, becoming one of the spa's main landmarks.

The spa even received a highly respected and distinguished visit when the King of Spain and the Prince of Bourbon visited before World War II. This was likely due to the fact that after Zamoyski's death, the spa was inherited by his son Jan and his wife Isabel de Bourbon. Isabel was the niece of the King of Spain. Later, World War II thwarted plans for further expansion of the spa. It was later nationalized, passing under the administration of the ROH (Revolutionary Trade Union Movement) in 1952 and state control in 1957.

The health of patients and clients is taken care of by water from the main thermal spring Izabela, along with water from the thermal spring Jozef (the spring "near the post office"). Izabela is the most yield-abundant spring in all of Europe, with a flow rate of 20 liters per second. Moderately mineralized, lukewarm, calcium-magnesium, hypotonic water flows from it. Jozef, on the other hand, is a spring with cold, moderately mineralized, carbonated drinking water containing an increased proportion of calcium, magnesium, and fluorine. In addition to the main spring, healing water gushes from 14 other slightly less abundant springs.

People also visit Kúpele Vyšné Ružbachy to view the Kráter small lake. This is an interesting natural travertine lake with thermal water. With a diameter of 20 m and a depth of 3 m, it is the largest of its kind in Slovakia. In 1967, it was designated a protected natural creation. It beautifully complements the surroundings of Biely dom, creating a truly eye-pleasing ensemble. In addition, hotel complexes are located here. Wellness services and a restaurant are a matter of course.

Guests can enjoy several different types of procedures at the spa. Water procedures offer a choice of underwater massage, massage pool, thermal sitting pool, carbonated tub bath, bubble bath, Scottish douches, alternating foot bath, swimming, and lower-limb whirlpool bath. Physical therapy procedures include cardiovascular rehabilitation, Nordic walking, hydrokinesiotherapy, fitness, and variously focused physical education. Psychotherapeutic procedures include music therapy, relaxation, EEG biofeedback, HRB biofeedback, and hippotherapy. Other procedures you can undergo include Vacu Well negative-pressure therapy, vibrosauna, manual lymphatic drainage, Pneuven-Bevuk lymphatic drainage, Aquavibron, classic or peat paraffin wraps, sauna, Solux lamp treatment, inhalations, gas injections, Biotherik dry carbonated bath, laser therapy, Bioptron light therapy, solarium, classic electrotherapy or BTL-06 device electrotherapy, hydrogalvanic bath, ultrasound, magnetotherapy, diathermy, diadynamic currents, and classic or reflex massages. Medical examinations are a matter of course.

You can spend your leisure time during your stay at Kúpele Vyšné Ružbachy through active or passive relaxation. Nearby is the Letné termálne kúpalisko Izabela outdoor thermal pool with natural healing water. History lovers should not miss Ľubovniansky hrad castle, Ľubovniansky skanzen open-air museum, Nestville Park, or the Stredoveký vojenský tábor. You can experience fun mixed with a bit of adrenaline while rafting or taking a wooden raft ride on the Dunajec river. Hikers will enjoy the options for walks or hikes in the Pieninský národný park. You won't be bored in winter either, as you can ski at resorts in Vyšné Ružbachy or Stará Ľubovňa.

A stay at Kúpele Vyšné Ružbachy has a beneficial effect on clients. Smerdžonka - Kúpele Červený Kláštor

Smerdžonka - Kúpele Červený Kláštor

Červený Kláštor

Kúpele Červený Kláštor Smerdžonka are located in the picturesque area of Pieniny. The local clean air, together with the beautiful environment and healing water, are a beneficial combination that continuously attracts many people. The spa helps treat patients with indicated oncological diseases, metabolic and endocrine disorders, occupational diseases, mental illnesses, and non-tuberculous respiratory diseases.

In the 14th century, Carthusian monks came to the area of the spa, followed later by the Camaldolese. The monks were the first to start using the water springing from the source for medicinal purposes. They recommended drinking it for loss of appetite and digestive tract problems. You certainly know the legend of the flying monk Cyprián, who was one of them. Among other things, he devoted his life to the study of herbs, which resulted in his life's work, the Herbár. In the 19th century, their monastery was abolished, but the healing spring continued to be used. This was thanks to a local miller, a pioneer in his own way, who invented a way to use it for relaxation purposes. He made waiting more pleasant for people waiting to have their harvest ground into flour. He heated the healing water for them in a cauldron and then poured it into a wooden tub. While the flour was being ground, customers enjoyed a pleasant and healing bath.

In the period around 1820, approximately 100 years after its establishment, the spa bore the name Kúpele pod Troma Korunami. The year 1887 was very significant, as it brought its inclusion among the official spas of the Kingdom of Hungary. It was even among the most important spas in Hungary. During World War I, the spa was destroyed, and it was not until 1928 that it was subsequently restored. Spa treatment began to function again, but not for long. The period after World War II marked the end of the spa industry in Červený Kláštor.

Change came in 2010, when the local spring was declared a natural healing source. This resulted in the construction of the Dom zdravia and the restoration of the spa tradition. In 2012, the gates of the new spa were solemnly opened to the public, starting a new chapter of the spa industry in Červený Kláštor. Initially, skin diseases were treated here. Since 2016, thanks to the clean air of Pieniny, the spa has been a climatic spa. This made it possible to expand the list of indicated diseases to all those that Kúpele Smerdžonka currently helps treat.

The Smerdžonka healing spring has moderately mineralized water. It has a high content of minerals and salts, especially sulfur, sodium, magnesium, and calcium. Its use in balneotherapy is significant. Hydrogen sulfide has beneficial analgesic, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory effects. The water is suitable for both full-body and partial baths.

Currently, Kúpele Červený Kláštor provides its clients with a whole range of procedures. Here, you can try mineral, saturated, herbal, and oil tub baths, electrotherapy, ultrasound, solux, oxygen therapy, inhalations, heat therapy, Nordic walking, upper respiratory tract hygiene, UVB phototherapy, bioptron, physiotherapy, respiratory gymnastics, coordination training, exercises with an overball and fitness ball, saunas (Finnish and infrared sauna) with salt therapy, cosmetic procedures, mole examination, liquid nitrogen treatment, remodeling, posture/breathing/gait education, and various types of massages: full body, face, neck, hot stone, reflexology foot massage, and Thai foot massage with sticks. The procedures can be used as part of an entire medical or relaxation stay, or separately and individually.

Kúpele Červený Kláštor Smerdžonka is also a suitable place for gathering with extended family and friends. Whether it is a family celebration, wedding, significant anniversary, school reunion, graduation, christening, or any other important event in your life, you can experience it together at the spa. You will have restaurant facilities, a dance floor, a winter garden, a wooden chalet, or other spaces at your disposal. It just depends on which one you prefer.

The spa is also very popular with companies that organize various events, teambuildings, or congresses here. Naturally, a congress hall equipped with the necessary technology is also available. End your training session with one of the experiential adventures prepared for you at the spa. A genuine homemade pig-slaughtering feast, a Gorál evening, a folk party, or various themed evenings. Which of these will you choose? Tips for health exercises are also very popular; they will be appreciated not only by your employees who sit hunched behind a computer all day. An unusual experience within teambuilding can also be exploring Pieniny, whether in the form of a trip to top attractions, cycling, or an adrenaline-pumping rafting trip on the Dunajec river on wooden rafts or inflatable rafts.

Furthermore, Kúpele Smerdžonka also includes a wellness center and a sports area. You will make use of mini-football, volleyball, and basketball courts, outdoor fitness equipment, and an indoor gym with equipment. You can also spend your free time playing one of the games, just choose. Will it be pétanque, giant chess, Russian skittles, or something completely different? Perhaps you would rather try Kneipp therapy and walk along the balance path. In any case, thanks also to these facilities, the stay is suitable for schools, school trips, and various sports training camps.

How will you spend the rest of your free time during your stay in Červený Kláštor? The possibilities are endless; just choose. If you like hiking, head to Tri koruny or Haligovské skaly. From the seat of a bicycle, you can discover many beauties of Pieninský národný park. The Dunajec river, in turn, offers the opportunity for rafting or wooden raft trips. Prielom Dunajca also has its charm. If you are interested in history, visit the monastery of the Carthusian monks, where a museum is established. You won't be bored in winter either; you will experience great skiing in Vyšné Ružbachy and Bachledova dolina.

So there is nothing left to do but come and see the beauty of Pieninský národný park and, above all, the healing effects of the spa with your own eyes. Kúpele Horný Smokovec

Kúpele Horný Smokovec

Vysoké Tatry mesto

Located at an altitude of 960 m a.s.l., Kúpele Horný Smokovec is the highest-altitude spa for children and adolescents. They specialize in the treatment of children aged 3 to 18. They are the only Tatra spa focused on the treatment of non-specific respiratory diseases. They take advantage of the presence of high-quality mountain air along with a climate suitable for active outdoor movement. Just looking at the spa, children will feel like they are on vacation rather than in treatment. Modern buildings, numerous playgrounds, greenery all around, and in the background, the panorama of the majestic Tatra peaks.

The Opatrný couple put the sanatorium into operation in 1928. Even for its time, it was modernly and above-standardly equipped, focusing on the treatment of children with tuberculosis. In 1948, the sanatorium was nationalized and operated under the name Detská ozdravovňa Horný Smokovec. In 1971, its focus changed, and children with upper respiratory tract diseases began receiving treatment here. The healing home became part of the state spa system, first Czechoslovak, later Slovak. In 1997, it returned to the hands of the granddaughters of the original owners, who continued the work of their grandparents and preserved the tradition of the sanatorium for children with respiratory diseases.

Children with severely weakened immunity often arrive at Kúpele v Hornom Smokovci. The foundation of the treatment is climatotherapy, which, together with special rehabilitation, helps strengthen immunity and thus improve the quality of life. Climatotherapy treatment is further supplemented by inhalations, electrotherapy (diathermy), light therapy (solux and bioptron), mountain sun (UV therapy), paraffin, stays in saunas (infrared, Finnish, steam, and salt saunas) and a pool, massages, relaxation in a rest room, and physical education.

The spa strives not to evoke a feeling in children that they are in medical treatment. They pay close attention to home-quality food, taking into account the special needs of individual patients. They provide sports, cultural, and leisure programs for children, so they never get bored here. The outdoor playground features slides, climbing frames, and a sandbox. Sitting in a relaxation gazebo or by the garden fireplace also comes in handy. Football, volleyball, and basketball courts are available, and a tennis court is a matter of course. The complex features its own fitness center and saunas.

A primary school, a kindergarten, and an after-school children's club are established at the spa, which children regularly attend during the morning hours. Kúpele Horný Smokovec boasts the oldest school attached to a medical facility in the Slovak Republic, providing primary and lower secondary education. Teachers follow the curriculum that the child brings from their own school. If they do not bring one, they follow their own curriculum. In addition to traditional knowledge, education also brings many supplementary activities. Excursions are organized to explore the Vysoké Tatry region, as well as visits to various galleries and museums. The program also includes puppet shows, playing musical instruments, sports, art, or singing competitions, and discussions on diverse topics. Teachers try to divert the children's thoughts away from their illness. They want to teach them to live with it, smile, maintain their enthusiasm, and jump fully into life. They want every child to get a chance to succeed. And very often, this exact mindset greatly assists the entire healing process.

A matter of course during treatment is also filling the leisure time of children who are on a stay without parent accompaniment. Whenever possible, children are outside in the fresh air. This demonstrably helps children and lifts their overall positive mood. They do not miss the TV or computer screen at all. They acquire healthier life habits that will have undeniable long-term effects.

The surroundings of Horný Smokovec offer many possibilities for trips and attractions that you can enjoy together with your children. Surrounding areas of the Vysoké Tatry also offer plenty of fun. Visit museums, galleries, and diverse hiking options are available as well. You will experience fun on the Bobová dráha v Tatranskej Lomnici bobsleigh track. In the town, we also recommend visiting Botanická záhrada Tatranská Lomnica, Múzeum Tatranského národného parku, Indoor Fun Park Kamzíkovo, or Galéria Dobrá hračka. You will ride the funicular up to Hrebienok, where you can view the Tatranský ľadový dóm Hrebienok. Take a trip to Svištej krajinke or to one of the waterfalls in the Vysoké Tatry. The possibilities are almost endless.

Children at the spa gain friendships for life. In a playful way and in a beautiful environment, they complete treatment and will return home to you healthier, more positive, and more resilient. The entire staff of the spa, whether professional medical or pedagogical, is highly qualified, and your child will be excellently cared for. Naturally, parents can decide to undergo the treatment together with their child. Often, the whole family even comes and spends all their time outside medical procedures on trips in the area. If you long for a similar family experience, you will certainly find suitable accommodation near Kúpele Horný Smokovec on our portal. Kúpele Nový Smokovec

Kúpele Nový Smokovec

Vysoké Tatry mesto

Kúpele v Novom Smokovci belong to the most famous climatic spas in Slovakia. Thanks to their high-altitude location in the center of Tatranský národný park (Tatra National Park), at an altitude of 1,010 m above sea level under Slavkovský štít, people with respiratory problems or asthma frequently choose them for their clean mountain air. Indeed, the Tatra climatic conditions are characterized by extraordinary air purity (above the dust and smoke zone) infused with the aroma of natural essential oils, reduced atmospheric pressure, high values of sunshine and ultraviolet radiation, and average humidity. The Kúpeľné zariadenie Nový Smokovec spa facility helps patients diagnosed with non-tuberculous respiratory diseases, metabolic and endocrine disorders, mental illnesses, and occupational diseases.

The historical development of Kúpele Nový Smokovec is both interesting and inspiring. Nový Smokovec was founded by Mikuláš Szontagh, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Vienna. He worked as a spa physician in Starý Smokovec, but was not enthusiastic about the conditions that prevailed there. Whenever possible, during the summer seasons he worked in seaside and mountain spa houses in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the Balkans. However, he was most enchanted by the spas in Montana, Arosa, Opatija, Merano, and Davos, which is when he began to dream his dream of owning his own institute. In 1875, it began to come true as the construction of Nový Smokovec commenced. In 1876, the oldest sanatorium was already opened as the first specialized tuberculosis treatment facility in the Kingdom of Hungary.

Great credit for the construction goes to the land association members from Veľký Slavkov, who leased the land to him for a symbolic price, donated the wood needed for building the sanatorium, and over time sold him additional land at favorable prices. Upon starting the excavation work in 1874, the discovery of a silver coin from the times of Marcus Aurelius and later a metallurgical workshop site came as a surprise. After World War II, the constructed sanatorium became a state spa, operating as a joint-stock company since 1995. Gradually, hotels were renovated, a swimming pool was added, and individual medical procedures were modernized. In 2006, the complex expanded to include a sports hall and a congress center, since 2007 a wellness center, and over time also a relaxation zone with games. A restaurant and three hotels are part of the spa complex. Currently, they operate at a high standard, providing top-quality care to their clients.

Thanks to the high-mountain environment of the spa, the basic treatment method for patients is climatotherapy and active movement in the clean mountain air. The surroundings of Vysoké Tatry are ideal for leisurely walks or easy hikes. In addition, patients are prescribed respiratory rehabilitation and therapeutic physical training (LTV), various inhalations, as well as balneological and physiatric procedures. Everything is complemented by a balanced, rational diet, tailored with various diets and intolerances if necessary.

Kúpele Nový Smokovec use time-tested and proven medical procedures that bring real results to patients: oxygen therapy, Tatra nasal douche, biolamp, shortwave diathermy, Solux, peat packs, various types of massages, magnetotherapy, ultrasound, 4-chamber hydrogalvanic bath, whirlpool, bubble and dry carbon dioxide baths, Scottish showers, Nordic walking, targeted physical education, inhalation, and diadynamic currents. You can try all of this right in Nový Smokovec. A team of qualified, certified doctors, nurses, rehabilitation specialists, and of course, other spa staff will take good care of you.

More and more often, people visit the spa to regenerate their bodies and rest from stress. Therefore, a stay in Nový Smokovec is available both for clients through health insurance and for self-payers. More than 100 offered wellness attractions and procedures taken directly in the heart of nature guarantee perfect relaxation for everyone. The spa also offers stays for corporate clients, whether in the form of a reconditioning stay or an event-organized trip. Indeed, the complex features 3 congress halls for up to 330 people, naturally provided with state-of-the-art equipment. It is not even unusual to have a wedding organized at Kúpele Nový Smokovec. The elegant setting of the hall with French windows, breathtaking Tatra peaks in the background, provided music, decorations, and food, plus a church for a religious ceremony right next to the spa. Sounds almost perfect, don't you think?

Thanks to the high-mountain air, the treatment of pulmonary diseases is very successful right here in the National Institute for Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases.

The spa in Vyšné Hágy was built by the Central Social Insurance Fund. In 1935, a construction project for a large sanatorium began due to an increased number of tuberculosis cases. The spa opened its doors to its first patients in June 1941. At that time, this treatment institute was one of the largest in Central Europe. To this day, it maintains the quality of its treatment methods and procedures.

The sanatorium has 8 floors and a length of 270 meters. An interesting fact is that it lies at an altitude of 1,130 m a.s.l. In addition, it has nearly 2,000 rooms and around 500 beds for patients. In 1958, as many as 286 of these operations were performed.

Throughout the entire period from its establishment to the present day, the treatment spa has maintained highly qualified experts as well as modern instrumentation and equipment. In 1988, the Center for Thoracic Surgery was established here. The institute diagnoses and treats various types of respiratory diseases, including lung tumors and functional lung examinations. It has also expanded its operations into other medical fields: urology and gynecology, ophthalmology, immuno-allergology, and gastroenterology.

Vyšné Hágy is known not only as a spa town. Many might know that here they can find the highest-located primary school in Slovakia. There is an old, no longer used railway line and a tunnel through which the spa was once supplied not only with food, but also with coal for heating. Life in the village is more or less subordinate to the local spa, and most residents work directly in its services. However, Vyšné Hágy is not the only spa in the Vysoké Tatry. Nearby are others, such as Kúpele Nový Smokovec or Kúpele Horný Smokovec.

The Vysoké Tatry mountains are sought after throughout the year not only by spa guests, but also by tourists. In Vyšné Hágy, we can also find hiking trail signs. A steep trail leads from here to the Tatranská magistrála trunk route and to Batizovské pleso tarn. Spa patients take advantage of walks through the surrounding Tatra villages such as Štôla, Starý Smokovec, or Nová Polianka.

The Tatras are simply made for spa recreation not only because of the healthy fresh air, but also because of the wealth of leisure activities. In winter or summer, you can enjoy a cable car trip, for example, to Skalnaté Pleso, Lomnický štít, or Solisko. A trip on the Tatranská elektrická železnica (Tatra Electric Railway) to Štrbské pleso, or by cog railway from Tatranská Štrba, is also popular.

If you head here with children, take them to the Galéria Dobrá hračka gallery in Tatranská Lomnica. They will certainly also appreciate Tricklandia in Starý Smokovec.
