Hall Woodrock
The district town of Poprad is best known as the gateway to the Vysoké Tatry. However, the third-largest town in eastern Slovakia can also boast another enticing rarity. Under the name Hall Woodrock lies the tallest climbing wall in Central Europe. At its highest point, the indoor wall reaches an incredible height of 31.115 m. You've never climbed before? No worries. The climbing center's offer also includes climbing courses under the guidance of experienced instructors. They will, of course, rent you the equipment. All you need to bring is a pinch of courage and a generous dose of good humor.
The Woodrock center is the result of the relentless effort of passionate climbing enthusiasts. Back in 2016, they joined forces to form the WoodRock sports club to build a true rarity inside a rented concrete plant hall, a giant climbing center. The floor of the climbing wall is located at an altitude of 680 m above sea level. The level of the highest point exceeds 711 m above sea level. That represents more than 31 m of climbing experiences, athletic performances, adrenaline, and fun. Will you come try it out for yourself?
In addition to climbing itself, the climbing center's range of services includes climbing courses. If you have never been on a wall before, they will teach you to climb in Poprad. You will master both technique and safety rules. You will not need any special equipment; comfortable sportswear will suffice. Everything else can be rented right on site. However, Woodrock is not just about climbing. The offer also includes experiential tandem paragliding flights, snowkiting and kitesurfing courses, paddleboard rental and paddleboarding courses, an airboard rental shop and airboarding courses, as well as professional advice from a fitness coach.
Alongside unique climbing experiences, beneath the Tatras you will also enjoy an adventure in the popular AquaCity Poprad water park or an adrenaline ride at Motokáry Tatry in nearby Svit. If you prefer calmer holiday experiences, you can visit the Tatranská galéria or the Podtatranské múzeum. Be sure not to miss hiking in our high mountains, which will be right in the palm of your hand here. If you feel like going on a stay in Poprad, we recommend booking accommodation near Hall Woodrock well in advance. There is huge demand for accommodation in Poprad and its immediate surroundings. Without a doubt, the most sought-after are chalets in the Tatras, offering privacy and excellent accessibility to tourist attractions.
