Kačín
Do you have active children and love relaxing with them in nature, or do you adore cycling? The Oddychový areál Kačín recreation area is a wonderful place that will fulfill your expectations. It is situated in the pleasant forest park of the city of Bratislava, specifically in the Lamač borough. This green oasis under Malé Karpaty is also very popular among residents of the capital. Therefore, weekends here tend to be quite busy. You can complete the route on foot, on balance bikes, or on bicycles, and strollers will handle the terrain with ease.
Park your car comfortably at the park-and-ride facility near Červený most, after which you can take one of two routes. For hikers, we recommend the shorter route along the red hiking trail through the forest, which has an interesting terrain, and on some sections you will tackle a more demanding ascent. For mothers with strollers, the route along Cesta mládeže via Železná studnička will certainly be a better choice. It is right at Železná studnička where you can take a break, grab a refreshment at the snack bar, and fully energized, tackle the last steeper section of the road all the way to Kačín.
Here, a spacious natural kingdom with a children's playground will open up before you. You will find various climbing frames and even a beautiful wooden treehouse. If you pack sausages, you can roast them here over a fire pit, or a grill is also at your disposal. Children will certainly have an experience as you search together for twigs for the fire and whittle roasting sticks. There is plenty of seating here, so you can enjoy what you have prepared together in peace. On nice weekends, pack a blanket with you and have a real picnic right on the grass. You can also explore the educational trail.
A pleasant day in nature will not force you to rush anywhere. Near Kačín, you will find plenty of accommodation options. Simply choose from the range of guesthouses and apartments in Bratislava. A few nice hostels are also available. On your way to Kamzík, take the children to Rozhľadňa pod Kamzíkom, from where you will enjoy a wonderful view. On following days, you can explore the capital city itself. You will find a piece of history in Múzeum mesta Bratislavy, and street performers under Michalská brána will surely put a spring in your step. Bratislavský hrad and Hrad Devín are also among the must-see stops. Children will undoubtedly be thrilled by a visit to Zoologická záhrada Bratislava. We can only conclude that a week will certainly not be enough for you to discover all the places, sights, and attractions. Western Slovakia will thus gladly welcome you anytime in the future as well.
