What to See in Hrabušice and the Surrounding Area Hrabušice is an ideal destination for anyone wanting to explore the beauty of Slovak Paradise. In the center, you’ll find an original Romanesque church from the 13th century, home to a precious Gothic altar – a true gem of local architecture. Just above the village, on Zelená hora, lie the ruins of Marcel’s Castle, adding a mysterious atmosphere to the landscape and offering lovely views of the surroundings. Hrabušice also includes the popular recreational area Podlesok, the most frequented gateway to the gorges of Slovak Paradise. From here, you can set out on iconic routes such as Suchá Belá, the Hornád Gorge, or Kláštorisko. Cross-country skiers will also find their place directly behind the village in Kozé vrchy, in Mengusovce, in Lopušná dolina and of course in Štrbské pleso. Smaller ski resorts nearby: Snowpark Lučivná (approx. 10 km), Lopušná dolina. The preserved forests of Kozé Chrbty above Važcom will tempt you to go mushroom picking and walk along the tangle of forest paths, also created for runners or cyclists. If you are a keen cyclist, you will be delighted by the cycle paths leading directly from Važec in various directions: to the Čierny Váh hydroelectric power plant, from where you will have breathtaking views of Horný Liptov and the Tatras, you can also take the cycle path to Štrba, but also to the Slovak Paradise and Horehron. In case of favorable conditions, there are groomed trails for cross-country skiers in the area. In the surrounding resorts, you can use the services of a ski school and kindergarten, as well as ski equipment rentals.

The remarkable Studenovodské Falls are reachable using yellow footpath starting from Tatranska Lesna Rail Stop.
