The village is located in a beautiful natural environment at an altitude of approximately 480 meters. It is a typical quiet village, where just over 150 inhabitants live, which gives it a family and peaceful atmosphere. History and monuments * First mention: The village is mentioned as early as 1391 under the name Mladonya. * Architecture: The dominant feature of the village is the Roman Catholic Church of St. Demeter, which was built in the Baroque-Classicist style at the end of the 18th century (around 1789). * Folk culture: The village has preserved fragments of traditional folk architecture (stone houses), which are typical of the Hont region. Horné Mladonice is an ideal starting point for easy hiking or cycling. The surrounding Krupinská planina offers: * Deep valleys and lazy rivers. * Opportunities for mushroom picking and walks in deciduous forests. * Proximity to the town of Krupina (about 12 km), where you will find the historic Vartovka watchtower. There is a small shop in the village with groceries and basic goods for everyday consumption. Every Saturday, the local Trh na laze Mladonice is held in the laze with quality food from local producers.

Town is typical slovak one with great nature and atmosphere. We strongly recommend to visit Stara Hore (small place with small historical houses and wine cellars) or Mala Hora.
